Ok, so it took me a while to upload my set which I played at Lethargy Festival two weeks ago in Zurich. It is probably the most famous and largest festival in the area. As my foot was broken, I first thought not to play there.
But finally and like a little miracle it went better three days before. So happy to have played the opener on this very hot summer day. The dance floor was empty at 1 pm, at 3pm it was crowdy and I saw happy faces all around. So I guess Aka Tony was feeling not too bad to take over the decks.

The label is now regarded as the nucleus of the young jazz scene in Manchester and is home to musicians from the UK, Belgium, Poland, USA, Australia and Scandinavia, among others. This results in an exciting contemporary spectrum of spiritual meditative jazz, neo-classical and ambient-electronic crossover. My co-host Greg took up the reigns for this week's show, episode 223, bringing you a host of new promos, new releases and bandcamp finds during the first hour.

In hour 2, he welcomed special guests 7T8s @7t8s.
7T8s are Emma & Adrian, a husband and wife DJ duo based in South Wales. Their style brings a fusion of classic house anthems, soul, funk, and disco. With a deep-rooted passion for music, 7T8s love for the clubbing scene began in the 90s, where they absorbed themselves in diverse music genres such as hardcore, garage, jungle, drum and bass, house and techno. This range of influences has shaped their musical identity that is the hallmark of their sound and is a testimony to their genuine love of house music.  They delivered a truly high-energy, uplifting disco-infused guest mix that had us captivated from start to finish. Enjoy!!

Dale Gold heads up the show this week with a fabulously funky set of weekend groovers. Our special guest was Andy Buchan, who brings an eclectic vibe to the show, spinning slinky downtempo grooves, housey tech and other electronica. Andy runs his own record label called Hot Gorilla, along with fellow funkmeister “Conan the Selector”, and has unleashed a series of red-hot edits and disco monsters.

As a producer Andy is prolific, releasing quality tracks on a regular basis. He’s signed to 12 different record labels, including Hot Digits, Midnight Riot and Masterworks music. He also co-runs his own record label called Hot Gorilla.

His tracks have been supported by the likes of Craig Charles, Danny Rampling, Greg Wilson and Bicep, to name but a few.

As a DJ, he’s opened for some serious talent including Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Calvin Harris.

Part Deux x Didnt Cha Know Ledger Mix

Exactly three months ago I played at Alice im Wunderland at DOCKS in Hamburg. Do you remember? I definitely do because it was my first all night long or more precisely my longest set I played so far. And it was so much fun! I loved the Prinzenbar and all the other colorful floors with its detailed decoration, the audience, the crazy outfits of some of the guests and of course the hospitality of the DOCKS crew! Thank you for inviting me and thanks to everyone who danced!

DJ and radio host on Radio Z 95.8 Nuernberg/Germany (Radioshows “Limbo Rhythm” and “Headz”).

As DJ he has performed since 1992 in the Franconian surroundings, however, also in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria… Moreover he was booked for events such as the IFA International Radio Exhibition Berlin and the biggest European Youth Fair “YOU”, also in Berlin.
Dr.Best himself considers his roots in the Hip Hop Sound of the early 80’s to the mid 90’s, but he also dealt with other styles such as Funk, Soul, Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, Big Beat, House, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat. Over a couple of years he has been known in the German Clubscene as a Breakbeat-DJ, then in 2006, however, his style started to mutate… Styles such as Funk, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, Latin, Afrobeat and Disco got mixed with his Breakbeat Sound and created a new mixture which cannot be easily tagged any more.
- But actually there is no need to tag it, is it? -
