Adesso Music unveils double V/A compilation, a round-up of the London label’s current releases.

Founded in 2019 by Junior Jack and his music partner Pat BDS, Adesso Music is quickly establishing itself as a go-to tech house label, giving rise to an eclectic scene of groove aficionados. Now, the burgeoning label unveils two V/A compilations rounding up its output from the last year.

On the first package, we’ve got rising Tech House stars from AndThen to Eldeanyo, established House heavyweights such as CASSIMM and KeeQ, up-and-coming names from the Melodic/Afro spheres like Trilucid and DJ Kid, and, of course, the label head honcho himself, Junior Jack, on top of many more. The second instalment features an array of dancefloor-ready remixes from some of the biggest names in the game, including The Deepshakerz, Band&dos, LO’99, and Nick Curly, amongst many others, backed by two exclusive remix releases from Virak and Lorenzo Spano & Markyno.

It’s safe to say that in its nearly four years of existence, Adesso Music has served up plenty of dancefloor-bothering anthems, winning support from BBC Radio 1 tastemakers and club legends along the way, and continues to cement itself as a label to watch.

"Boca Na Água" emerges as a connecting point between Brazilian culture and the current electronic music scene. The track, already tested on major stages such as Ritual Stage at Surreal Park, B.O.M.A, Colmeia at Green Valley, Tetto Rooftop, and others, features excerpts from the iconic Rita Lee, a figure who transformed Brazilian music since the late 1970s.

The vocals, rescued from "Mania de Você" (1979), bear the mark of a time when Rita expanded her aesthetic, approaching pop and disco, without abandoning the boldness that made her famous. By inserting it into an electronic context, the production not only pays homage but also reopens this gesture of rupture and freedom.

The result is a track that escapes predictability: Brazilian in essence, global in reach. "Boca Na Água" asserts itself as a work that doesn't repeat formulas, but rather clearly weaves memory and the present.

Having come out with one of our favorite records from earlier this year (Paso's Limited Perception), FINA Records are back just a couple months later with another phenomenal release! This time around, label owner Simon Morell has decided to combine forces of two Parisian powerhouses like some sort of mad scientist. The Parisian powerhouses we speak of are none other than the promising lads Armless Kid and Tour-Maubourg, who have been at the forefront of the underground house scene with respective releases on Luke Solomon’s Classic Music Company and Folamour's FHUO label.

To be honest, we did not know what to expect when we heard the two were coming out with their Espace X EP. Both artists have stylistic tendencies that put them on opposite sides of the spectrum between no-nonsense house and jazz-tinged beats. Fortunately for everyone, this experiment seems to have worked. The EP consists of a total of three tracks - two of which feature both artists.

However, our favorite original from the EP  is a full-length track solely produced by Armless Kid. A balls-to-the-wall groover from beginning to end, "The Rebirth" is a certified DJ weapon that is guaranteed to energize any dancefloor where it's played. Never allowing the upbeat nature of the tune to divulge into a heartless drone of 4/4 beats, Armless Kid does a stellar job of layering soulful vocals throughout the piece to give it "that extra morsel of quality" that comes to define each and every FINA release!

Coppola is a young underground DJ and producer with unique talent from São Paulo. The artist began to take an interest in electronic music when he was a little kid. At the age of 15, he began a production course and was noticed by one of the main agencies in the nation. 
Coppola’s incessant search for new textures generates an unprecedented musical brilliance. His remarkable production skills and live gigs are his trademarks. 
This 2-track EP is a surprising present to all house, techno and indie dance lovers.  A soundtrack affair with special guests from 2Strange and a special remix from Gui Boratto. 
“Kings & Queens” is a combination of beautiful synths and melodies with a direct bass line on top of a dry comforting drum session.   The duo 2Strange delivers a sharp vocal mood, turning into an intense and introspective work with a superb positive energy level. 
The track caught the attention of label boss Gui Boratto who gifted us with a massive dub remix version entitled  “Gui Boratto Drag’s Mix“, another dance floor killer jewel for our joy. 
Inspired by Todd Terje, Eric Prydz, and Ten Walls, Coppola is a secret weapon coming out of Brazil, and now part of DOC Family. 
The prodigy kid has supported some significant international names, like Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Gui Boratto, ANNA, Wehbba, Paco Osuna, to name a few.  Coppola has been conquering his space and fans in the Brazilian scene and is ready to reach out to the globe.

Kings & Queens feat. 2STRANGE(Gui Boratto Drag's Mix) Snippet

DOC RECORDS is an independent record label founded in 2013 and operated by Brazilian architect and music producer Gui Boratto. The name is a reference to "Denominazione Di Origine Controllata" or D.O.C., used for certifying all different types of food which follow a set of regulations and come from specific geographical areas. In this case, it's about music that relates to Gui's own sound-like principles: to Gui, more important than style, it is the music itself that and its beauty and harmony that count the most. Thus, the intent to launch quality timeless music, avant-garde, rhetorical and with a well defined and efficient language and expression, regardless of its shell. 

After all, there's only good or bad taste.
