Fort Romeau’s second outing for Running Back is another exercise in dance floor synthesis. Starting where its predecessor “Saku" left us with the green shimmer of a Fairlight, “Emulators" - you might have guessed it - greets us with the grey realism of an E-MU II. Purchased first by none other than Stevie Wonder, immortalised in Ferris Bueller’s ode to absenteeism and the original loon sampler, there is nothing this machine cannot do for you - the same goes for Fort Romeau. His disco-informed, trance-induced tracks that usually end on a high note, are elevated by ambient soundscapes that end with a bang and sugarcoat your warm-up slots, while bird-heavy bonus beats that stand up on their own or help you out in the mix. Nice like a stick of liquo-rice.

Bombastic premiere on 8day! This track really captured our attention. Darien J, based in London UK, is a producer, maker and mixer of deep dance music, he's an experienced artists, his first release was back in 2008. Darien J's sound is distinctive; at its core deep bass but fused with acid house, deep minimal and melodic techno combining to create an infectious groove. Synergy is out under a new Russian label, Polyptych, on 2017-08-18.

his own hometown, MooDisco contains a 3-track bomb from Leo Janeiro with DOC label boss Gui Boratto and a very special remix by French act Rodriguez Jr.  

This could just be a happy coincidence, where it’s not for the fact that Leo’s trajectory made him a protagonist of the electronic music scene in his hometown, Rio de Janeiro.  He built a career dedicated to music. In a city with so many daytime attractions, it is the night and electronic music that has been blessed with his talent.  He has compiled an impressive list of residencies and performances globally. Known as one of the ambassadors for Brazilian electronic music, Leo has the ability to combine originality with a universal language. Just like his hometown.

On this limited edition vinyl and digital release, Leo Janeiro, Gui Boratto and Rodriguez Jr. present a serious track sequence of techno and house beats. Each artist has kept its own trademark.  ”I had a lot of ideas and one of them was to have a remix by an artist that I admire, respect and have a personal relationship”, says Leo Janeiro.

MoodDisco is a combination of artists and friends on the move. They are tireless in enthusiasm and are bursting with new tunes and projects.

Me and stef (riva starr) were out vinyl shopping in williamsburg, brooklyn earlier this year when we met this dude ranting in the street about some 3 day bender he had been on (and possibly still was....) we hooked him into our serato and chopped him up into a tune. DOC RECORDS is an independent record label founded in 2013 and operated by Brazilian architect and music producer Gui Boratto. The name is a reference to "Denominazione Di Origine Controllata" or D.O.C., used for certifying all different types of food which follow a set of regulations and come from specific geographical areas. In this case, it's about music that relates to Gui's own sound-like principles: to Gui, more important than style, it is the music itself that and its beauty and harmony that count the most. Thus, the intent to launch quality timeless music, avant-garde, rhetorical and with a well defined and efficient language and expression, regardless of its shell. 

After all, there's only good or bad taste.
