Sleeping Orchard blends dreamlike escapism and psychedelic experimentation with a deeply human and earthy folk style. The project is often compared to the likes of Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed on the one hand, and to early Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Velvet Underground and even elements of The Grateful Dead on the other.

Rooted in second-hand instruments and recording equipment from various marketplaces and car boot sales, most notably the £4 acoustic guitar and cassette recorder that feature heavily on the Sleeping Orchard YouTube channel, the songs carry a quiet weight - earthy, considered and dreamlike with a mix of poetic lyrical imagery and observational cynicism.

The Sleeping Orchard YouTube channel has gained a small but dedicated group of subscribers in recent years and is seen as a retreat from the fast-paced, edit-heavy nature of modern digital life.
