Tribe'n'Bass? Tech'n'Bass? Drum'n'Tech? Whatever you might call it, the first ever vinyl release of the freshly launched imprint Freebreakz.FWD is a quite trip, a journey into the unknown and unexplored.

For their conjunctional studio effort that is „Alien Swamp“ we see Hamburg's baze.djunkiii and Berlin-based Donna Maya draw influences from spiralling TribeTekno and the freeform approach of the teknival scene, pay homage to their love for advanced, experimental Drum'n'Bass and fuse these elements with a stripped down high tech vibe somewhat reminiscent of early Minimal Techno coming out of Motor City Detroit. Imagine all these bits falling together at breakneck speed and with a well psychedelic notion and you'll be captivated by one of the most unique dancefloor cuts from a space-exploring future, the electroid soundtrack for illegal raves taking place under the two suns of life-bearing exoplanets in binary star systems far far away.

Donna Maya is an innovative musician, sound artist and theremin player based in Berlin and Tenerife.  Her music is a rich tapestry of experimentation and evolution of underground techno. 

Donna Mayas unique musical journey begins with this rare electronic instrument, the theremin, played without physical contact, creating a one-of-a-kind sonic experience. Her mission takes her to the most unexpected places seeking to capture the uncharted soundscapes that they offer. Every sound sample becomes a brushstroke on the canvas of her compositions, unveiling the enigmatic references and stories concealed within.

Donna Maya´s performance is further enriched by captivating visuals created from the source material of her sound recordings.  She found her own approach to play the instrument and create a unique sound that differs much from what is expected. Her art is a testament to the power of sound to reveal hidden sound information to create personal narratives that resonate with audiences.

Donna Maya also writes film music for the movie „Kurz und schmerzlos“ by Fatih Akin, composes turntable concerts for chamber philharmonic and DJ and develops interdisciplinary performances. Her work led to invitations to perform at Transmediale in Berlin and Sonar Festival in Barcelona.

Although baze.djunkiii never really planned to get himself involved in production affairs and rather refers to himself as a DJ than a producer there have been some collaborations and remixes happening within the past years, some officially released and some yet unsigned. This site has been set up to showcase some of the productions baze.djunkiii has been involved in since 2001.

Apart from being a prolific DJ, Youtube video creator and music writer baze.djunkiii is head and creative force behind the 1999 established label Intrauterin Recordings and its offshoots Intrauterin Tapes, El Caballo Semental and Freebreakz.FWD.
