Timo Maas is a storyteller. For him, it's never about back-to-back bangers or brainless hits, but 
about crafting, building, teasing and eventually pleasing. From hefty concrete funk to stripped-
back and brain-altering techno via psychedelic synths stronger than any drug, he knows exactly 
what to play and when. He has done so at every major club and festival on the planet from 
Tomorrowland to Kazantip, Creamfields to Coachella, while for 17 years during the golden years 
of Ibiza's Circoloco party at DC10 he was a regular guest, which is a testament to the fact that 
he has always stayed ahead of the times. 
Two-time Grammy Award-nominated Timo has made every shade of electronic music from 
famous remixes of Azzido Da Bass and Depeche Mode, leftfield reworks of Afro-Peruvian group 
Novalima and Indonesian all-female heavy metal band Voice of Baceprot via work with pop 
greats like Paul McCartney, Madonna and Placebo. But his pure love of techno keeps him 
coming back to his most famous sound. It's all united by his ability to craft weighty bass and 
rolling drums that lock you in. To dream up unusual breakdowns, freaky vocal treatments and 
deftly designed details that sound like nothing else. He has released on majors like Warner and 
Virgin and underground staples like Stripped Down Records, Cocoon, Mobilee, Tenampa and 
Last Night On Earth. But whatever he does and wherever he does it, Timo is always 
investigating new musical grounds.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

About Gareth:
Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010. As a young designer, club and music culture was the driving force for his work, producing artwork for local club nights and record labels in the North East of England. In particular, DJ mix cds and their packaging were always his 'holy grail of design', especially those from Renaissance, Global Underground and Good Looking Records. It's a pleasure to share these discs back with people and they still influence our tastes to this day.

Electric Mirage is the project of Douglas Black and Daniel Fowler to bring honest music back to the radio and dancefloor. Douglas wears his '80s and '90s influences on his sleeves, but adds his own sensibilities to create unique, atmospheric, and heart-felt melodic music that reaches across decades and genres. With his first release "Absolute Zero" on Framewerk's Capital Heaven record label, Electric Mirage is off to a very promising start.


Douglas Black and Daniel Fowler met in the Hong Kong nightlife scene and quickly became close friends with a shared passion for music and games.

They also share a passion for connecting with people, and the vision of Electric Mirage was born: create a world where people can come together, express themselves, and connect while listening to meticulously curated music from around the globe. A world with good vibes, good taste, and good company.

Douglas and Daniel’s performances quickly gained the DJ duo respect and followers in their adopted home of Hong Kong, and their rooftop gatherings became cherished memories for many attendees.

In 2020, Douglas Black began his musical residency on well-known UK breaks station, Cutters Choice Radio, and began developing his idea of what a music podcast should be. Each episode of coheres around exploring a story or idea through a variety of tracks from around the world, with quality and honesty being the most important criteria for selected tracks.

Douglas is currently based out of Tampa Bay, Florida area. Daniel is based out of Lisbon, Portugal.

In 2017 she delivered a long list of sensational releases, including her diverse 4-track 'Conquer Yosemite' EP, funk-driven cuts 'Waves' and 'Fever', and touching creations 'Tears In Your Eyes' and 'Trailblazer'. Making her debut at Coachella and being the only female artist to play Tomorrowland's Mainstage Daybreak Session, she closed the year on an all-time high. 

Striding into 2018, Nora landed her own weekly Purified radio show on SiriusXM Chill and hosted her first Purified Miami Music Week Opening Party. Her first track of the year 'Sphinx' rapidly became a fan favourite and led her around the world on her Sphinx Tour. With a long list of festival appearances on the horizon, including Panorama Festival NYC, both weekends of Tomorrowland, Purified Love Mobile at Street Parade Zürich and her debut UK festival performance at SW4, Nora En Pure continues to impress with every move she makes.
