Princess Elf Bar is a DJ from Yorkshire, but she is now based in Manchester. After starting DJing in 2022 she has been a staple on trance, techno and hyperpop parties across the UK, especially in the North of England. She first started DJing with the Leeds & Brighton based collective Booty Shakin Bestiez, who are known for putting on sold-out hard dance events in Leeds and platforming up and coming female DJs. She also co-runs the Leeds based trance event and collective “Leeds Ambient Trance Community”.

Princess Elf Bar is widely recognised for her unique DJ sets and mixes that bounce seamlessly between trance, techno, ambient, bass, hyperpop and hardcore. Her mixes are endlessly euphoric, whilst also being high energy, fun and clubby. Her mix for Maximum Euphoria was picked up by Resident Advisor for their “Mix of The Day” series and described as an “unapologetically fun take on trance”. 

She has played at iconic clubs, for example she maintained a regular presence at the now-closed Wire Club, a legendary Leeds underground venue, where she skillfully showcased her talent as a selector. She has also DJed at Teletech Festival, XXL Techno, Glastonbury, Corsica Studios, The White Hotel, Boomtown and she will shortly be making her debut at Creamfields.

Princess Elf Bar was recently featured in Skiddle’s article: “The best new up-and-coming DJs in 2025” and The Face magazine’s “Going Out Guide: Leeds”.

Next up in our mix series is Julie, hailing from Tilburg, Netherlands. Julie is a resident at the Amsterdam-based party Pax-Romana, and the iconic Draaimolen Festival in Tilburg. Since 2015, Julie has been shaping her own sound as a DJ, which can be described as deep, hypnotic, percussion-driven techno, getting standout performances at legendary venues and events like Bassiani, De School, Tresor and Draaimolen.

For this episode, Julie has shared a 3,5h live-recording from the renowned Garage Noord back in January, when Julie warmed up the floor for Sandwell District. Setting the mood for the night, slowly building tension, Julie showcases her unique storytelling skills. A deeply hypnotic voyage gradually unveiling layers of tension & textured frequencies, delivered with the perfect pacing and finesse of a truly skilled selector.

The word "Atmospherica" can be interpreted as the shaping of mood and perception through immersive environments wherein sound, light, and space converge to alter consciousness. For the human psyche, it is a psychological catalyst—guiding emotion, dissolving time, and opening up trance-like states. 

In techno, this is especially alive: repetitive rhythms, hypnotic textures, and enveloping atmospheres entrain with brainwaves, bringing on a meditative intensity in which the boundary between external environment and internal experience dissolves.

In that sense, Atmospherica does wonders on the atmospheric journey it's bound to take you.

"Music was my first love and it will be my last" 

I was able to handle a turntable at the age of 3 ... Predestination?! :)

Except of many other music styles I am listening to, like Trip Hop, Lounge, Easy Listening, Soul etc. ... Electronic Music was always one of my favourites. 80s Synthie Pop, Chicago House Sound, Acid, Rave, House, Techno, Trance.

Since 1999/2000 I started mixing at friends decks, till I got my own Technics 1210 MK2 turntables in 2002 and they still work :)

If I would make a Top 21 with the electronic dance music tracks, from the past, that had the biggest influence to myself, it would look like this (and 21 are far away from enough):

I don't make my mixes for any commercially reasons. I don't earn money with them only spent a lot of money for Vinyl, CDs and files over the years. I am not into social networks, don't even have an account at any of the usual networks, except Soundcloud. 

I don't need fake followers, fake plays, fake comments, fake reposting. Everyone I catch, gets blocked and reported. 10 real plays, followers, comments are much better than 1000 bots/fakes ...
