Mexican artist, Replicanth, debuted ‘Apolo’ for us last year on our Floorplay Vol. 1 compilation. The VA included a little bit of everything for the most discerning selectors, and following its success, we are releasing some of the tracks as full EPs with both established and new artists on remix duties, in keeping with the ethos of the series. 

In original form, ‘Apolo’ is an emotional journey dripping with soul. Heavily delayed piano hits, vocals and instruments float above the ether of lazy harmonica reverbs, icy pads and ethereal adlib washes. Hypnotic and warm, it feels like a favourite audio blanket lovingly wrapped around your shoulders as you look wistfully at the city at night twinkling against the glow of the moon. 

First on remix duties is benū, a newcomer from Brooklyn, New York with his first release. Marrying the original vibe with nuanced Latin flavours, he develops a sensational stripped back organic Afro feel. Next, Belarusian supremo, Michael A adds his considerable talent. Thumping drums pair with far away pads and insistent percussion for a robust late night bruiser. Label favourite Electronic Youth takes the track in a groovy disco direction. Treading that fine line between disco and tech, the bassline is the star of this show. Finally, returning the favour of a remix, Brazil’s CANCCI drops a pacey deep house vibe with tons of personality.

MoBlack Records revisits Leo Guardo's 'Big Fish' EP, casting an astute ensemble of remixers to capture and regenerate MBR413's magic. Handing over the Melbourne-based DJ/Producer's 2020 originals to seven promising and energizing talents, MBR452 yields five reinterpretations that laud their predecessors' elegance while standing out as unique tracks on their own. Da Africa Deep spurs the five-track journey with his deep and earthy reincarnation of Leo Guardo and Adile Mbili's ecstatic meditation to "Wenomkhubulwane." Up next, C minor renders an ichorous remix of 'Bayamemeza' that propels Tabia's poignant aria to celestial depths. Wooing Andiswa Live's climactic lyrics, Saint Evo reimagines Sebenza's exquisite swells with robust urgency and electronic grit. Closing out the quintet are two more renditions of 'Bayamemeza.' Soulholic and 7Options are back in tandem, unleashing ingenious synth elements that draw out Tabia's emotions and illuminate its magnitude in fastidious electronic cadences. DeCave Man & TonicVolts' synergy limns a gratifying finale through an eloquent adaptation that transpires sonic deliverance out of vulnerability. 'Big Fish' treaded vast tides of deep house, Afro-inspired electronic undercurrents and waves of infinite groove, and these five stunning remixes resolve to perpetuate its glorious motion.

Redolent Music Head honcho, DJ CHUS, reveals his new release through a stunning new collaboration with French's favorite DJ & Producer, Dorian Craft featuring the rising start, singer, and songwriter TOSZ.

'Breathe' is a flowing and densely arranged dancefloor meditation, reminiscing of those post-peak moments, when time fades into insignificance and consciousness somewhat subordinates to the rhythm. Michael, a.k.a Mashrik, who is originally from Lebanon, currently resides in NYC. He is the co-founder of Kuná, an NYC based event series. He decided to make a music compilation of original tracks from a total of 20 exceptional artists from every part of the globe who agreed to support the cause. The purpose of this compilation is to fundraise money to help rebuild Lebanon. A lot of NGOs are on the ground collecting foreign aids as the government cannot be trusted.

Our goal is to raise as much as possible by selling the compilation through several distribution and streaming platforms. For this reason, we decided to partner with Inward Records, the Label that’s Co-owned by the duo @sparrowandbarbossa and Pippi Ciez who is the maestro behind the amazing mastering of the tracks.

100% of the proceeds from the compilation will go directly to NGOs in Lebanon, such as the Lebanese Red Cross, Impact Lebanon, Nawraj. We will communicate about this in more details and explain how the money will be allocated to different causes.

We, the Kuná founders and Inward Team, are humbled to have so many talented artists agreeing to offer their music as a mean to bring people together to support a good cause and make a difference in a country that desperately needs help.
