I AM ~ A Daily Mantra Of Self-Love

This guided practice of Pratyahara is the purposeful directing the mind and the senses inward ~ so that one can internalize consciousness and realize the true 'Self.'

Pratyahara consists of two Sanskrit words, prati and ahara.
Prati means away or withdrawal and ahara means food. Here, ahara means anything that the body and mind consume.


Therefore in the context of yoga, it is the process of withdrawing from the objects that nourish the sense organs. The goal of pratyahara is to withdraw from the external objects and to go inward.


Pratyahara is one of the Eight Limbs of Yoga laid out by mystic, sage, and philosopher Patanjali more than 1,500 years ago in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

The Sutras collect spiritual wisdom into an organized guide for living a yogic life.

What Soothes You:  A Guided Meditation

How do you take an idea, a thought, something that you desire deeply, and turn it into a reality in the physical world?"  How do you do this repeatedly and for all of what really matters to you?  We're talking about manifesting; bringing a thought, an idea, a desire - into physical form.

The Three Secrets of Manifesting | The WISDOM podcast | Season 1  Episode 8

Forgiveness is possible as you love yourself and others, unconditionally.  When you choose to forgive another or yourself, it is because you wish to let go of suffering; to free yourself to live in the present; and to dream of the future because you have completed the work of 'for' 'giving', for releasing your attachment to the past.  The past was never in your control.  If you are forgiving another, it is so that you can have a relationship with them in the present if you so choose.  In this episode, we discuss what it means to forgive; how you know that you have forgiven completely; and how you can do this so that you are no longer carrying the weight of the past with you.  

TRUTH SERUM:  A new way of thinking about forgiveness that transcends all world religions and is the most direct path to inner peace:  Forgiveness comes from Love.

A-HA MOMENTS: Forgiveness is: (Hint: break it into two words) forgiving yourself the freedom to let go of the past and whatever has happened including what you or others have done that is not a true portrayal of who you are.  Forgiveness is 'for''giving' acceptance to what has already happened; and what you have no power to change, only the power to live from the present moment. 

PRACTICAL WISDOM: You will know when forgiveness has been completed because you will be able to think about the other person, yourself, or the situation and no longer feel the hurt, anger, (or self-loathing) that was once present.  You will instead feel an ease and lightness in your heart centre, and you will be able to identify the feeling of unconditional love and acceptance that comes about from making peace with what 'is'. The Power of Love:  As love, we are limitless.  Love overpowers any fear, any self doubt, any need to withhold our true feelings.

The most important thing that you can do, that each one of us can do - is to know what it needed to live as love.  

This is what you are - when you are living as your authentic self.  This is what you must do.   ~ Begin each day from a state of love.  

You do this by remembering this state, holding the power of this love as what you are.  

Join me in this contemplation meditation for remembering 'how'.

A LOVE MESSAGE To My SOUL - A Prose Meditation To Inspire Eternity with Dorothy Ratusny

A gentle experiential meditation to remind you of the presence of your heart and to help you engage with your breath and the experience of inner peace.  Hold presence here for a time as you observe with gentle awareness - all things.  Let your breath be a source of ever-present wonder as you witness it flowing into and out from your heart centre.  Notice the energy of your heart as you breathe with mindfulness.  What does this energy feel like?  Will you allow what healing is needed?

I began studying yoga nidra meditations some time ago after experiencing them for myself and feeling a deep sense of inner calm and stillness that I had not experienced in a very long time.  Yoga nidra is a little-known ancient meditation technique explained as transformational sleep.   It evokes within you brainwave states similar to those in sleep, where the biology of your body is able to disengage from thoughts.

After a time in these conscious sleep states, I wake feeling deeply relaxed and at peace.  I enjoy taking a Yoga Nidra break during my workday for some gentle guided practice that I know is offering healing beyond what I am even aware of. 

I wanted to create some of my own Yoga Nidra Meditations to enjoy hearing the sound of my own voice as I experience this highly regenerative meditative state in which one can restore and rejuvenate the body, heal and recover from illness and re-wire our brain for greater mental and emotional balance and resiliency.

Since most seated forms of meditation can be challenging; meditation for many beginners and for students in general, can be more about the effort or the result rather than the experience of the technique.  In Yoga Nidra, the technique itself is composed of a series of body, breath, and awareness techniques designed to effortlessly guide you into a state of complete non-doing.
