After releasing their album 'Transatlantyk' in 2020, David Hanke aka Lehto (fka Keno) and Tristan de Liège team up again for their new song 'Ahead Of Us'. While Hanke released his collection of remixes and one offs at the end of 2021, Tristan de Liége released his new album 'Refractions' in June 2022. 'Ahead Of Us' sees them both again in the depths of downtempo, weaving together Kalimbas, Rhodes, Synths, vocal bits and crisp drums to a wonderfully soothing theme. In 2021 they also started working on their new project, The Golden Shadow, a project merging their love of spiritual jazz with a contemporary electronic aesthetic. Hanke's first Lehto album 'Between All Days' will also be released in late 2022.

Running a record label has sour moments and sweet moments. But there is a type of situation that is one of our favorites: opening the inbox, finding new material from emerging artists, pressing play and blowing our minds. In short, this is the story of ‘In The Maze’, the debut EP of the Hungarian duo Geopard Tourist.

What's more, and as if his fascinating music weren't enough, we've had the pleasure of adding the Australian hero Dreems with a dub version in the best Multi-culti style of the track 'Baboon'.

This project unites artists from two labels, Chinese based bié Records and Latin America based Shika Shika, separated by very contrasting cultures and thousands of kilometers but united by shared values and a shared musical vision.

Driven by values of creativity, borderless music and fairness for artists, both labels showcase artists that unite electronica with ambient and folk music, purposefully existing outside of the globalized, copy-paste of the mainstream music industry.

A mix of intrigue and mutual respect led to the birth of this compilation, with the two labels teaming up to match together a group of their artists to remix each other. The result is a widely imaginative, fresh and diverse selection of tracks featuring some of the prominent producers such as DaYe, Lim Giong; Hualun, Sun Dawei and Rainsoft from bié records and DJ Raff, Terror:Cactus, Numa Gama, Barrio Lindo and El Búho from Shika Shika.

The compilation is a testament to music's power to transcend language and cultural background as artists from hugely different contexts unite to explore and build on each other's creative visions.

ODD OKODDO are Olith Ratego and Sven Kacirek. 

Olith Ratego performs his immaculate vocals in the musical style called "dodo", which originates from the shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya, high in pitch and soulfully expressive. He himself refers to his music as "dodo blues". As a skilled luthier, Olith Ratego designs and builds his string instruments himself, first of all the five-stringed Okodo which lends its name to the project.

Sven Kacirek is a multi-instrumentalist commuting between Germany and Kenya for many years now, ever since he recorded his famous "Kenya Sessions" in 2010. He plays the marimba, percussions and piano, next to producing this project. He has closely collaborated with various international musicians, among them Nils Frahm, Shabaka Hutchings, F.S.BLUMM and Marc Ribot.

The remix on the B side amplifies the essence of the song. Peter Power is a part of the Voodoohop collective from Brazil and his releases on Multi Culti or Polychrome Sounds fuel the rather slow, organically hypnotic dance floors. He premiered this remix at the Heliodora festival in Brazil, at sunrise next to a giant waterfall, and it was just perfect.
