Es ist drei Uhr. Die Nacht ist noch da, aber sie zieht sich zurück – nicht fluchtartig, sondern wie jemand, der leise die Tür hinter sich schließt.
Der Hof liegt in Dämmerung getaucht. Ein Blau, das kein Himmel ist, sondern Zwischenraum. Die Feuerstelle glimmt noch, zwei Schatten sitzen dort – nicht wach, nicht schlafend. Nur gegenwärtig.
Zelle – nein, so wird er nicht mehr genannt. Jetzt ist er Teil, nicht Bezeichnung. Die Frau neben ihm blinzelt ins erste Licht, als könne man darin Zukunft sehen. Ihre Tasse ist leer, aber warm. Sein Stein liegt zwischen ihnen, nicht mehr als Zeichen, sondern als Teil des Bodens.
 Der Wald beginnt zu reden, anders als in der Nacht. Jetzt ist er fast freundlich, ein Rascheln wie Gespräch, ein Vogelruf wie Gruß.
Die Wagen glimmen noch – gelbe Vierecke in dunkler Struktur, wie Puzzlestücke von Leben. Darinnen: Atem, Matratzen, Nähe.
Der Hof? Er atmet tiefer. Nicht schwer. Nicht laut. Nur deutlich.
 In einem Riss nahe der Wendeltreppe ist das Moos gewachsen – über Nacht, wie etwas, das Zeit versteht.
Und Zelle – oder wer er jetzt ist – steht auf. Langsam, ehrfürchtig. Er streckt sich nicht, denn dieser Tag verlangt keine Körperhaltung. Er verlangt Präsenz.
„Es ist der Moment, in dem alles still wird, und gerade deshalb beginnt.“
Die Frau nickt. „Drei Uhr Licht,“ sagt sie. „Die Stunde, in der sogar der Verfall pausiert.“
Ein Vogel steigt über die Bäume. Nicht schnell. Nicht zielsicher. Aber als wüsste er: Heute wird neu geschrieben...

​An original piece written for the Weekly Note Composing Jam #27 with the theme ‘Dark Forest’. For this, I pictured the dark forest being the backdrop for a spooky level in a 16 bit indie game where the level oozes cheesey eeriness. To fit this vibe, I kept the amount of instruments fairly minimal and used some retro sounding synths that reminded my of the themes from Halloween and Stranger Things.

The text prompt for this was just "Fishing Hole"

I went with more of an ambient pad idea for the peacefulness of the activity of fishing like we were doing an early 90's PC game around it as a sport or something.  I remembered the fishing holes in Iceland that Sergeant Smith was smirking and describing as 200 USD a day to get a permit during Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy and that influenced my track art choice.

Das statische Rauschen der Angst kriecht durch die Betonschluchten und droht, jeden klaren Gedanken zu verschlingen.

Doch in diesem Chaos gibt es eine Frequenz. Ein Echo aus dem Ursprung des Traums.

Der Taktflüsterer hat es empfangen und in diesen Sound gewoben. Dieser Beat ist der Anker in der Flut, das Gegengift zum Wahnsinn. Er synchronisiert deinen Herzschlag mit dem Puls der schlafenden Schöpfung und erinnert dich daran, dass du mehr bist als nur ein Schatten in einem Albtraum.

"Assembly Opcode March" x86 opcodes (like how MOV=1011 binary as high/low) for a simple loop, played as binary tones. 

As the basis of my tune i used the x86 assembly code for a simple infinite loop. It performs a futile operation: adding 1 to the EAX register and then immediately subtracting 1, resulting in no net change, before jumping back to repeat indefinitely. Basically it's performative of computer science concepts like wasted cycles, undecidability in halting, or inefficient code in low-level programming history (nodding to early assembly optimization challenges). Decoding the binary tone sequence back to hex opcodes reveals a "pointless eternal march," symbolizing programs that run forever without progress.

These cover common categories: arithmetic (ADD, SUB), control flow (JMP), and operand encoding (modR/M, immediates).

Firenewts were fishing in my first MUD area brought over to SlothMUD in August of 2008, Herbalist Isle 1. This is an ambient piece with some wssh noises for the waterfall in the background and one global effect used on MixCraft instead of from the synthesizer cast-over the whole composition for a little more flair.

after manually performing and layering on the Roland FA-08 this got one good global effect from MixCraft 10.6 to give it some fun delay-feel to it

the instruments in the MuseScore PDF are kind of way off from the synthesizer because this one was difficult to model in the more limited instrument selection, on the synth they are all pretty abstract tone choices
