Ryan Elliot is a "DJ's DJ" who seems to ride the line between house and techno with relative ease. Recently, the Panorama Bar resident released his second mix CD for the Fabric series. The Fabric mix acts as more of a techno-influenced successor to his widely received Panorama Bar compilation which came out two years earlier.

In this episode, Dustin chats about Ryan's process for his compilations and how he chooses the tracks for them. He explains why he'll never stick to just house or techno. The two also go into detail about what makes mixes a bit less disposable and how to ask for a gig or a record deal without being a total jack ass.

When I first bought Robert Hood's "Minimal Nation" EP in 1999, it was love at first sound: this was stripped down, minimal -but funky- techno that worked great on the dance floor and had plenty of layers to it to make you want to listen to it over and over again.

I saw him DJ for the first time in November 2000 in Ekko in Utrecht, a small venue. I loved his 2 hour set all the more for the fact that I loved every track of it and didn't know any of them, so there was still a lot of great techno out there for me to find.

That particular set was never recorded, but this set from the same year comes pretty close to how I remember it. Enjoy!

Volpe es un joven artista de Argentina inspirado por el sonido de los años 90, moviéndose entre géneros como el Detroit, Dub, Hypnotic y Tribal Techno.

Su carrera comenzó a la temprana edad de 16 años, en la escena underground nacional, que más tarde lo llevó a tocar en lugares de renombre como Under Club, Cocoliche y Bahrein, compartiendo cabina con Eduardo De La Calle, Tadeo, Jonas Kopp, Seph, Andres Zacco, Zreik, Dying, Vladw, Zoffoli, Dijuma y muchos otros.

Actualmente es uno de los residentes de A-System, y también presenta con Tomas Kunkel su proyecto Altered Memories.

Además, su música fue apoyada por artistas como Ben Sims, Slam, Dax J, Jeroen Search, Tripeo, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, The Zenker Brothers, Francois X, Abstract Division, Nihad Tule, OHM, Lag, Opuswerk, Gotshell, Blue Hour, El Choop y Thomas Hessler.

Logró editar varias de sus producciones en sellos como Subsist, Fabrik Music, Detox Electronics, Solemne Records, Al3 Movement, ROOM y Concepto Hipnotico.

Ahora está centrado en sus presentaciones en vivo, en las que optó por el formato hardware, proporcionando un sonido orgánico y potente para su actuación.

Doug Cooney lives and breathes techno within every facet of his life and has dedicated many years to the growth and well-being of the genre in Ireland. From setting up one of Ireland’s best techno labels RLSD to teaching in Bray Institute Of Further Education, alongside teaching his RLSD classes, to churning out proper techno 12 inches, there are few Irish DJs and producers that come close to Doug Cooney in terms of impact on the Irish techno scene.

Doug Cooney also boasts of being one of the most technically gifted DJs on the isle of Ireland. Meticulous attention to detail behind a set of turntables has seen Cooney share the booth with formidable techno figures such as Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, UVB, Mark Broom, and more. Doug has a number of distinguished international gigs under his belt, with a debut at the fabled Tresor in Berlin alongside HöR being the highlights.

In recent years Doug has been burning the midnight oil in the studio, crafting high-octane and distinctly functional techno tracks. Cooney has recently signed records with respected labels such as Ed Davenport's Counterchange, Orbis, GND, Gynoid, EFR, Bastardo Electrico, N&N Records, alongside RLSD Records his own imprint laying a solid foundation for his future in music. His productions have received support from Dave Clarke,  Ben Sims, Luke Slater, Rodhad, KR!Z, and Answer Code Request. Doug’s tracks have also been remixed by Aiken, Binny, Lee Holman, and Dystopian records' Jon Hester, proving his calibre in the international arena.
