These compositions came from a Drake Music North West project  in Feb 2016 for autistic young people interested in composing music on their own terms. 

We are grateful to the Michael Tippett Musical Foundation for funding this work. The project used Found Sounds in the Urban Environment as a jumping off point.

Urban sounds were collected around Z-Arts in Hulme, Manchester by all participants.

A Sharp Distance Part II From DM NW Soundtrackers 2 Project Feb 2016

Leaders in music, disability and technology, Drake Music use innovative ideas and technology to open access to music making. We put quality music-making at the heart of everything we do, connecting Disabled and non-disabled artists locally, nationally and internationally. We are educators, curators, innovators and advocates. We believe everyone has the right to express themselves creatively through music.

Simon Desser and Mark Ginter,  two Manchester DJ's and producers worked together on various hip hop ventures between 1989 and 1994. They worked under various guises such as New Breed, Mad Dogs and Englishmen, The Mighty Headbangers and Freakin' Inglish as well as producing tracks for local rappers such as Nanosphere Complex. Posted here is just a little taster of some of the many tracks they produced. Hope you enjoy these tracks.
