Here at Dekmantel we are a big fan of Berlin based Brit Objekt. Evidence: you will see him play our festival in Amsterdam as well as Lente Kabinet, and then Dekmantel Selectors in Croatia. And right now, the man known for his unrivalled technical nous is in a fine run of form. His recent, self-released EP is another testament to his ability to skew house, techno and breaks into his own imaginative forms. Following on from releases on Hessle Audio, Bleep and an album on PAN, it is another boon in his fine discography. 

And he is just as impressive across a 90 plus minute selection for us: it finds him serving up a cavernous world of intricate and hi fidelity sounds that are abstract and unusual. Moving through sparse minimal soundscapes into pummelling but atmospheric drum tracks and on to jungle, dub and experimental worldly rhythms, it is a wildly compelling and singular selection filled with unusual sounds that often leaving you wondering WTF?!

British producers and DJs MM (@djdoublem94) and Suda (@sudanim) joined forces at Unsound 2018 to present a brand new collaborative show in a vast, abandoned industrial kitchen in Hotel Forum. Working with music, fog and light, the artists created an immersive experience, combining the sleek futuristic textures and heavy drums of hybrid club music. This exclusive podcast is the first recorded sound of Async Figure available online and a taste of what's to come. Addison Groove & Om Unit B2B at That Garden Party Thing The Rhubarb Tavern, Bristol 05.05.19

Next up in our series of recordings live from the booth is Lee Gamble. This one's from a steamy summer night in August during which we tipped our hats to essential UK label Hyperdub in celebration of their 15th birthday. 

In between a stellar opening b2b from local rave heroes Akanbi & DJ Temporary, and leading into a serious beatdown from label boss Kode9 (that started with Burial, nonetheless), Lee Gamble's set exemplified the wild-style, distinctly UK sound the label has been pioneering for well over a decade now.

There's something in the air on special nights like these, and Gamble channeled it to his full advantage, resulting in a set that was nothing short of outrageous. It's a two hour rollercoaster through genre & tempo, spanning sub-destroying bass & grime, dubstep infusions, plenty of breaks and a hefty dose of freaky techno. Full of unpredictable twists and turns while always remaining highly danceable and exceptionally fun, Lee blew the roof off and the minds out with one of the most mental sets we've heard in our two years between the stacks. 

Big love to all steppers in the place for this one, to the Groovy Groovy crew for the support, to Lou for all the technical finesse and the Lee for the tunes.

Part of Dimensions' history at the fort, DJ Stingray has played a key part in our programming over the years – it was only right we asked the fierce selector to host a very special 'Stingray Presents' at the Void. Joined by Silvia Kastel, Solid Blake, Paula Temple and SPFDJ - the final showdown was one that shook the very foundations of the fort!

Here, in this live recording taken from the final night at Dimensions 2019, Silvia Kastel sets the bar for the night ahead. Working her way through carefully selected electronic sounds, themes and genres to create something that is uniquely hers; a mixture of dark and downtempo, heavy rolling bass-lines and fast-paced percussion to raise the adrenaline for the night ahead. Enjoy.

Last December @CCL-tuf and I were invited to play an all night back to back set at a party called High & Tight in Seattle. H&T is one of those parties that you dream of playing, where every detail from the sound to the setting is perfectly thought out and where the crowd stays with you for every twist and turn. We ended up playing for almost 9 hours (although actually I had to leave for the airport before the end.) This excerpt is the first 3 hours, slowly and carefully heating the soup before bringing things to a boil.
