"The LA duo of Loren Luck and April Love, AKA LUCKYandLOVE, are releasing their debut LP, Lucky+Love on SRD Music on June 30th. I’m hard pressed to believe that this is the duo’s first album. The quality here in no way betrays the fact that it’s their first foray into full length album territory. In fact, this stands up there with the best work of similar acts like Ladytron (or Marnie’s solo work) and the Chromatics. What separates LUCKYandLOVE from the rest of the pack is two-fold…undeniably catchy synth work and austere vocals that still manage to have a swagger (easier said than done). 

To say that I was impressed with this album would be an understatement. LUCKYandLOVE are synthpop done right…a nod to the past with a wink toward the future. The duo obviously know the strengths and weaknesses of each other and use their talents to create a near perfect blend of pop music. I can’t recommend them any higher than I have so far. Their debut album, Lucky+Love, hits June 30th and I can’t think of a single reason why you shouldn’t own it once is comes out. " - ECHO SYNTHETIC

There's so very much to say right here. We kind of “stole” our material for the most from DUBLINERS, THE POGUES, CLANCY BROTHERS – from your rich and colourful history and culture. And even when we produce our own stuff, it's assembled with bits and parts of the tradition of Folk, Country, Rock, Blues and Punk that already exists. What we do is mostly songs, telling stories of tragedies, wishes, longings, achievements, fights and fates. And struggle? We struggle with the instruments, stages, lights, electricity, audiences, landlords, bartenders, pints, cigarettes, ashtrays, cabs, each other... the audiences struggles with us and among themselves... and the material speaks of struggles way across centuries, ringing on to this very day, and we try to connect them with present struggles. For still the oppressed are fighting their state of existence. You see them when you open the news... We'd like to be one of their voices.

The “Swell Daze” sound is a crisp three part harmony-driven blend of classic and modern rock. The band maintains pop sensibilities while staying true to their rock and roll roots. On their debut album, the band draws influences from artists across multiple genres and decades. Swell Daze crafts a signature sound with strong lead vocals, melodic lead guitar solos, and a tight and intricate rhythm section. Their live shows are explosively energetic, however the band portrays the cultivated class and distinctive stage presence you would expect from seasoned veterans. Since 2011, the band has been gigging relentlessly in the mid-atlantic region playing festivals, bars, and private and charitable events. Live, the band prefers to play cuts from their debut album, however they also draw from a repertoire consisting of over three hours of classic and modern covers.

 What's New with Swell Daze:

 In February 2015 Swell Daze won Jammin' Java's 12th annual Battle of the Bands.

 Several songs from their self titled debut album have been used in episodes of "Best Ink" on the Bravo, Oxygen, Universal and Cloo TV networks.

 Their song "Hooked" has been used extensively by the Discovery Channel on episodes of "Saint Hoods" and "Gold Rush the Dirt".

 In 2013, Swell Daze won the Mid Atlantic Battle of the Bands, an East coast competition featuring over 90 bands. After the win, the band hired platinum record producer Jim Ebert, platinum record sound engineer Sean Russell, and renowned mastering engineer Vlado Meller to cut their first full-length album “Simple Fix". 

 Swell Daze’s 2012 self titled EP received moderate recognition nationwide. The album, which was a DIY effort, charted in the top 200 for National College Radio for over four weeks. The album was licensed to multiple TV networks including Discovery Channel, E!, O, VH1, NASCAR, MTV, MTV2, and Tony Hawk’s Ride Channel on Youtube. 

 Swell Daze was also sponsored by Red Bull Soundstage in 2012.
