The latest update to the Virtual Utopia servers has come in the form of a 107-minute audio-experience from the duo behind the labels last release 'Panspermia'; Beltrac & Urban Guidance. (@beltracc & @urbanguidance)

A pitched-down and blissed-out voyage; exploring every expanse of downtempo, IDM, ambient techno and trance; all infused with a smiling optimism and organic, uplifting breaks throughout. This mix effortlessly transfers those who engage with it to an alternate realm of unparalleled beauty, with a calming tranquility that eases the body, mind and soul. Here you can lounge in paradise.

Subtle reflections of the sun catch your eye as they gleam off the slow-flowing water. You match the streams pace and stare into the horizon in awe at nature's phenomena. Every colour in the sky slowly becomes more vivid and you feel gradually more weightless. The edges of existence begin to glow and you close your eyes, relying only on sensation. Here you begin your voyage into distant lands.

Hannah D is a DJ and artist originating from Meanjin (Brisbane), now residing in Naarm (Melbourne) — a city with a dedicated electronic music community that sees her as a go-to for progressive sounds. Through both her music and delicately-blended mixes, Hannah has created a tangible connection around the globe with new age revivalists of the 90s and 00s sound. Aside from her own personal artistry, Hannah heads up TSBU (The Space Between Us), the successful Australian label which has a local focus on proto sounds within the progressive tech space. The TSBU discography already includes a variety of releases from Mabel, Al Dente, Gallery B, and more. 2023 has seen Hannah exceed the high expectations that are associated with her name, with a debut European tour and further additions to the ever-growing TSBU label catalogue - as well as more stellar events under both her ‘Luna Blessings’ (with DJ Luv You) and ‘Send/Return’ (with Bex) event brands. Chocked full of highlights, the first of many ‘business’ trips to Europe included a 5-hour b3b (alongside fellow Weaver artists Mabel & suki) for a sold-out warehouse event in Lyon, debut performances online and in-person in Berlin, Copenhagen and London, and a lasting impression that already has multiple northern hemisphere outfits requesting a return in 2024. She now has her sights firmly set on providing Australian audiences with further exhibitions of her sonic output - a sound that draws inspiration from both the people and places that surround her. Expect Hannah to continue going from strength-to-strength, bringing her euphoric tones to you and your friends wherever you may have the pleasure of encountering her enigmatic DJ sets.

Happy new year & gloomy Jan :) with that said we welcome our favorite London based duo, inner zone @inner_zone (Nic & Rupes)for mix 18! 
These two are no strangers to the underground music scene in the UK & beyond. Co founding one of London's most sought out parties & day festivals, Transmissions. Which has organically produced a warm, sophisticated & eclectic energy to our scenes atmosphere, curating promising linup's and some of the best sets we've witnessed. They exceed everything you want from a musical duo with continuous bookings at festival's like Dimensions, Love International and music released on labels such as Space lab & Holding Hands. Were super excited to have them contribute this slow-paced, effortlessly smooth mix created for the deeper, celestial mind...

Cozi questions ...

1.⁠ ⁠How and why did you get into producing / dj’ing?
We started going out in the late 90’s and got hooked on a combination of amazing clubs, killer tunes and even better gary's so buying decks and spinning seemed like a no brainer. Records were cheap, record shops were everywhere. Good times :) 

2.⁠ ⁠Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you've been to or experienced and why?
We played a 4hr ambient set at Nachtdigital festival which was super cozi - we went to the depths whilst everyone was laying around on mattresses and sofas, cuddling in blankets under the stars. It was super special. 

3.⁠ ⁠Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert in the scene?
Introverts I guess? There’s enough people making a lot of noise out there, we kind of tick along. We’re happy with our bit :)  

4.⁠ ⁠If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever, what would it be?
Jai-en : Bubble Gum. It’s a stone cold banger and comes to every gig with us. If you see one, buy it! 

5.⁠ ⁠What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? Do you have any special remedies/ mental/physical prep/ places to go to? :)
Rupes: I do pretty meticulous preparation, taking vinyl out of sleeves and into plastic cases to protect them and to pack more into the bag. I like a few beers before a gig to settle the nerves. 
Nic: I chaotically throw records around the living room in a panic before the gig and hope for the best. Our friend Adam said watching me prepare for a gig actually gave him anxiety and he had to leave the room. I try and stay sober, I can’t mix after two beers.

Elsa's productions have really caught our attention, with diverse and always very smooth releases on the likes of pressure dome, common ancestors, SchanzeAcht, and more recently, Naarm's very own Companion. The first entry in this year’s Virtual Utopia program comes from the Australian-born, Berlin-based duo, Daisy Records (@daisyrecordsmelbourne). Mitch and Obelix have crafted an entrancing 2.5-hour journey that weaves through downtempo, house, ambient techno, and trance -all infused with a shimmering ambiance that radiates warmth and positivity. Each track carries an ethereal beauty, enveloping the listener in a calming softness that invites them to close their eyes and drift peacefully through the inner, and outer reaches of their minds. 

Daisy Records are true masters at capturing a sense of ethereal spaciousness, delivering a sonic palette that soothes the mind and cleanses the spirit. This mix offers listeners the space to let their thoughts flow gently downstream, while their atoms dissipate, floating aimlessly yet never lost, free from the need for a destination.

Every sense is blissfully engaged here—vibrant colors, cooling winds, the fresh scent of life, and the harmonious soundscape of a flourishing Earth. A temporary window into the unspoiled nature it once was.

Through the spectrum of euphonic sound, resonating souls merge and dissipate like distant murmurations. Although for some, however much their distance may change, through the phenomena of love, they will remain forever bound.
