Terminal Caribe is the newest album of Santi & Tuğçe who weave timeless, borderless melodies with global, dance floor rhythms. Similar to their previous releases which take listeners on a sonic adventure all the way from the coasts of the Black Sea to the Parana River, Terminal Caribe presents a peculiarly personal, yet undoubtedly universal odyssey exploring the deep interrelations between music, movement, and memory. Named after a bus stop where the duo had the initial inkling for this album, Terminal Caribe serves as the point of departure for an entrancing journey through a wildly varied world of sound. Soulful melodies, captivating harmonies, colorful orchestration, polyrhyhmic percussions and marimbas, and deep bass lines combine with heartwarming vocals and the sounds of sea to tell a tale that is at once epic, melancholic, spacy and irresistibly groovy. 

Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) left their homes to follow their dreams of music and have been road companions and musical partners for more than a decade. They collaborated on two full length-albums, four EPs and numerous singles which captivated listeners worldwide. With their 2016 EP El Regreso del Gallito, “Santi & Tuğçe rewrote Paraguayan folklore” (Thump Vice, Brazil) and with their Songs for My Grandmother, selected as one of the best albums from Turkey in 2017 by Beehype, they remade Turkish classics for contemporary audiences. Drawing on their eclectic background and constant pulse for innovation, Santi & Tuğçe once again reinvent an unpredictable and enticing soundscape of the Caribbean and beyond.

Desert Tales

Time keeps flowing like a river - year after year the Urban Cosmonaut journey goes on - and we are thrilled by the sound adventures which await us on the path. We keep travelling on the beat, and today's trip brings us to the Anatolian plateau to enjoy the Turkish delight which Erhan Yilmaz (https://soundcloud.com/erhanyilmazedits) prepared for us. Erhan was born on the shores of the Black Sea, he has been playing music for about a decade already, he performed in radioshows and music venues alongside many instrumentalists. His sound experiments and melodic excursions helped Erhan to develop the fascinating style he displays in his mix. His sound is diverse and heterogeneous, sliding smoothly between house tracks and disco-folk rhythms produced with a rich selection of ethnic motifs from Turkey and Middle-East. It is a vibrant sound made of histories and memories, a sound which recalls the beautiful moments spent with the beloved ones. This is what inspired the artist while recording the mix. We are happy to welcome this new friend at our podcast series, and wish you a wonderful time with his mix.

"The Cycle" By Eternal Moment

Finally the month of July is here :)
It smells like holidays.
This month we wanted to highlight an international artist recognized for his productions and for his remixes.
We love to play his songs which bring a lot of warmth to our stories. 
This is Jose Solano.

Jose Solano is a musician, composer and producer born in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1980.

Solano’s love of music began when he was sixteen, where he tried new and different melodies with his first keyboards. He studied piano at the Yamaha Music School with Professor Jesus Castro, and studied singing with the famous Soprano Amelia Barquero.

This inspired the later development of a successful career in which he explores with different tones and textures of tribal and electronic sounds. He now works as a keyboard player with the renowned soloist Esteban Calderón while making his own music on the as well. He has shared the stage with important national and foreign artists such as the Spanish Russian Red, the Colombian Fonseca, and the Mexicans Jessy and Joy.

His own music draws influence from various artists, including Jean Michael Jarre , Depeche Mode and many more. This highlights his great taste for the electronic, and thanks to his multiple influences he manages to develop his original style with his own individual sound.

His most popular tracks include ‘Tambura’, ‘Marrakech’ and ‘Renaissance’ which all combine deep house electronic textures and beats to create an ambient and suspenseful sound which has come to be his iconic and unique musical testament.

Jose Solano’s music career is active and thriving. His discography already boasts 72 tracks and is set to increase even more. He has recently released a track called ‘Birds’ on SoundCloud and is currently working on an up and coming EP to be released in the coming months.

This experience and education all lead up to his most recent achievement in 2018, where he was nominated for an ACAM award for best electronic music producer in Costa Rica.

Jose Solano’s career has evolved with not only his own musical education and experiences, but his own natural musical talents.
