Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.

The neural symphony

"It’s pretty obvious we can all perceive music as such and thus have something in our bodies which has the specific function of extracting and interpreting information in a musical form. To explore this notion further, we should first look at what happens in the grey blob that lives inside our head, called brain, when we listen to music."

Symmetry

"Music is symmetrical. Tempo and rhythm are the obvious proof for this. Symmetry is very unusual when it comes to naturally occurring phenomena and it’s weird to see, or in our case – hear, it while you’re strolling through a forest, for example. Rocks and plants, and clouds, and rivers are almost never symmetrical. Animals, on the other hand, are. If something is symmetrical it’s most likely alive and things that are alive are definitely things you need to watch out for. In nature, symmetrical stuff will usually be a) something you want to eat; b) something that wants to eat you; c) something you want to have sex with. This would mean that animals, including humans, are likely to have somewhere in their genes a strong instinct to pay serious attention to symmetry. If this is true, our predisposition to music has just become more logical in an evolutionary sense."

Double Touch is a live electronic duo collaboration between Sydney/Los Angeles based Classical Pianist/Composer Van-Anh Nguyen and DJ/Drummer/Producer Mark Olsen. They blend their two worlds together to form a unique mix of acoustic melodies, percussion and electronic sounds. Ranging from ambient soundscapes to Organic/Latin/Afro House, Double Touch weave their musicianship, virtuosity and contagious energy into their live performances.
 
Double Touch are official All Day I Dream Artists with multiple releases and performances at All Day I Dream events globally. Their shows are a unique blend of a traditional DJ set and live performance, adding live keys and drums, improvising and creating new directions in their music during their live sets. The synergy and connection between the two results in a unique experience for listeners and concert goers alike. 
 
Double Touch have performed globally with highlights including Brooklyn Mirage (New York, USA), Scorpios (Mykonos, Greece, Bodrum, Turkey), Cova Santa & Playa Soleil (Ibiza, Spain), All Day I Dream Festival (California, USA), Return to Rio Festival (Australia), Cercle (Omnia, Indonesia), Golden Gate Park (San Francisco, USA), Cloud 9 (Fiji), Omnia Bali (Indonesia), and Café del Mar (Phuket) to name a few. 
 
With radio plays on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix BBC Radio 1 (UK), rotations on SiriusXM (USA) and support from artists such as Lee Burridge, Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Sebastien Leger, RUFUS DU SOL, Above & Beyond, Fatboy Slim, Facundo Mohrr, Roy Rosenfeld, Guy Mantzur, and Nora En Pure, Double Touch has quickly become a household name in the modern House genre.
 
Double Touch have curated in-flight entertainment mixes for British Airways & Emirates and has worked with luxury brands such as Porsche & Barons de Rothschild.

Keinemusik is a network with the label as the pulse pumping centre. Driven particularly by the spirit that moves the collective behind the imprint. The spirit to find your own agenda and let nobody get in the way. The spirit of refining House and Techno off the beaten path. Be it within their own tracks, within productions of other sorts or DJ-sets. The spirit of recall value within record- and flyer-artworks and everything intermediate in word and image surrounding releases and parties. And the spirit of diversification – Rampa’s effect-gadget-venture TEILE being one example. Keinemusik’s own booking department ‘Worldwide Dancing Club’, established in 2018, being another.

Keinemusik has been around since 2009. It has been naming an existing friendship and linked interests of the four members – &ME, Adam Port, Rampa and Reznik. A more or less constant count of five releases per year have been released ever since, solely laid down by members of the crew. And a considerable count of label-parties went down, not only in Berlin, but around all international focal points for electronic music. And surely, there’s plenty more where those came from.
