DJ LA exists to cross boundaries, erase societal lines and to always be pushing against the need to be boxed into a single genre. She has had experience in classical violin training as a child, and as an adult has now crossed over into the world of both DJing and Production.
Her sounds are influenced heavily by her daily life in Downtown Los Angeles, and Funk/Soul, Hip-Hop, Ambient and Experimental artists. 

She is of Persian and Mexican ancestry and enjoys incorporating that at times into her music. 

Her goal with her career is to not only unify people with her music, but also to start a non-profit organization for the children of Los Angeles' inner city school systems. She believes in not only the healing power of music, but also it's ability to help children express themselves in ways that words could not suffice.
