Live recording of my set at Garden of Joy on the final night/morning of Nowhere 2022, Europe's regional Burning Man (Sunday morning, 02.00-04.00). 

This was an improvised mixture of upbeat melodies and dark mental vibes, with some groovy basslines in between. I hope you enjoy the ride! Thank you to the camp organisers, volunteers and the tireless dancers for your trust and energy all throughout. What a beautiful camp, see you hopefully next year!

AfrikaBurn is a community of participants who come together to create art, costume, performance, theme camps, music, mutant vehicles and much, much more. All of this is created through a volunteer and gifting culture. The main annual AfrikaBurn event takes place in the Tankwa Karoo, located between the Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces of South Africa, usually at the end of April every year.

2 months of planning before Burn, and I didn't even get to play it.

Then another 2 months to plan a party to finally play the set.

We're proud to present our fourth cast, mixed by Loy Bonheur!

Loy grew up in the middle of nowhere with a passion for nature and music. When she was little she started making her own mix tapes as music had always a big influence in her life. She has always been ambitious for music, especially for different sounds of cultures from all over the world. From early on she was looking for new sounds, that make the body want to move. After spending years dancing infront of the DJ-desk she decided to go behind the desk since the beginning of 2018. 
Loy believes music shall not be limited to genres, so she is not confined by tempo, genre or geoprahpical boundaries. With melodic elements at the heart of her sets, she wants to tell a profound story that creates an uplifting atmosphere, which leads through percussion, deep rythms and cosmic downtempo tracks — always with a baseline.
