For our 20th edition we were able to bring you an artist who’s really been making huge moves in the scene both on his own and with the incredible HAYES Collective from Portugal. Temudo actually started out in drum n bass which explains certain choices of aesthetic in his techno.

Having studied music and being a mixing and mastering engineer himself, Temudo blends the musical and technical approaches in order to control powerful sound designs often through controlled saturation. Sequenced textures give a lot of groove to his pacey tracks and it’s for this reason he’s been able to score a lot of very interesting record deals with some of the scene’s most sought-after labels. Klockworks, Soma, and MORD have all had the chance to work with him and that’s only this year.

VOLTAGE Podcast 20 - Temudo

Much like Maserati or Gucci, the name Alarico has become synonymous with Italian quality. The young Milan based artist sends his listeners on mindbending techno trips, fuelled by a lean and kinky, 90's infused sound. His journey began in 2015, when he traversed Italy's clubs learning the art of Djing and music production. In 2019 then he gave himself the alias of Alarico, derived from his own name, demonstrating that he pours his heart and soul into every track. The result is a unique sound of fast-paced rhythms and trippy grooves, reflecting his personal attitude as well as his background in hip-hop and japanese culture. His debut in 2020 saw him release on Joton's Newrhythmic records, which was followed up by releases on OOM records as well as  releasing on his own Katana Imprint. With more exciting things on the horizon, we can't wait what this guy has in store for us!

July 1st 1863 (officially 1873) is when slavery was abolished in Surinam. A day where freedom of our ancestors was finally realized. Those who have suffered so much for us to live free now. 

Freedom and peace is something we kindly consider normal but even now in 2022 we have modern slavery of the uyguhrs in China. Thousands of migrant workers dead in Qatar for the world championship of football, Palestina who suffer from apartheid until this day and war in Ukraine which all of a sudden came really close. 

Freedom is something we are blessed with. We should not take this for granted and enjoy life as much as possible. Be kind and good to people around you, it might be a small thing for you to do but it can mean SO MUCH for others.

Minimalism + Rhythms x Groove = Default

When it comes to groovy, deep and hard-hitting techno, Minimal Default never fails to deliver.

Sven (born August 1992) was brought up with a lot of electronic music. Bands like Faithless, Massive Attack and St. Germain were played in and around the house on a daily basis . No wonder' the art of DJing had always sparked an interest. This made him enlist a DJ course in the local community center at the age of only 12.

From there on, the interest for DJing and producing stayed and grew into a hobby. Playing a lot of different styles and genres at first, but gradually moved towards underground techno, in which a true passion was found.

Sven's productions and sets are defined by rhythms and minimalism. Hard-hitting, lots of goovy percussion, deep and hypnotic synths, dirty basslines are key to the sound of Minimal Default.

CMRK is a young forthcoming techno music producer and dj from Lithuania, who started experimenting with electronic music genres in his late teenage years. Finding inspiration in the industrial feel of the club’s atmosphere, CRMK keeps constantly searching and developing his own sound approach. On his journey CMRK was already supported by DJ Ogi, Arweenn, Aahan, D.Dan and was performing at events involving stars such as Klangkuenstler, Vendex, Lee Ann Roberts to name a few. A Sunday afternoon delight from two of techno's most beloved heavy-hitters arrives exclusively on our Soundcloud.

Berlin techno viking and founder of Dystopian Records Rødhåd and the young, accomplished and Mote-Evolver regular Rene Wise have released their 4 hour set recording from March 2023, a huge B2B session that saw the pair delve in and out of eachother’s company for our last Continuum party. They played an extended set during the final Continuum 24+hour party of the season this Spring. 

The session, which started at 4pm as the tail end of the afternoon drew in and went on til 8pm ahead of a closing set from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, proved to be one of our highlights from the event. It's a real treat to be able to share the full recording; smashers from the get-go that takes us through the hard and heavy, to the atmospheric and energetic.

Lock in below and transport to the incomparable energy of Room 1 on a Sunday afternoon. Sometimes, we reckon, there's no place like it.

Ponygirl is an upcoming producer and DJ from Hannover. Baking fresh grooves in the studio and serving it on the dancefloor. 
Her style is defined by a mix between locked grooves, percussive rythms and hypnotic synths, creating an immersive soundscape. 
Influenced by the 90's and early 00's she combines early Hardgrooves, own unreleased tunes and recent releases, for an unique experience.

A deluge of uptempo alien wares and left-of-centre breaksy manoeuvres blended with homing hi-tech warheads, Nebbieri’s delivery takes no byway to get its message across. As with all Bassiani in-house jockeys, she undoubtedly masters the art of transition and radical tempo switches to perfection, and the ruthlessly addictive buildups she unreels here attests to her magnificent mixing skills and unfaltering resolution in wreaking absolute havoc wherever she gets to play at. Beware an atomic summer with Oppenheimer coming to theaters mid-July. Meanwhile here’s Nebbieri nuking out the competition, clean and tidy.
