Hailing from Maputo, Moçambique 🇲🇿- the Perspectiv duo weave their multicultural backgrounds into a story that is expressed best through their diverse taste in music. They navigate the frequencies that merge organic instruments with deep electronic elements 🎹, while infusing tribal rhythms 🥁that span from Latin America to their mother continent of Africa 🌍. Ultimately they take dancers on a journey around the world without physically leaving the dance floor. With experience within the growing underground electronic music scene in Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦- this dynamic duo seem beyond their years with a deep, mature sense of appreciation for their art. They are currently establishing themselves in Vancouver through their own events productions and their You Plus One residency.

'ALEVY8' pronounced [uh-lee-vee-eyt]

California native, 'ALEVY8' (born Ryan Miller) has always had a passion for music. As an 80’s kid, he was fascinated with ‘Michael Jackson’ and found himself glued to the television trying to mimic his every move stating, “His moves were like magic and that’s where my love for breakdancing stems from”. As he got a little older he developed an appreciation for several other genres of music. Though, ultimately his love for Rock music inspired him to start a band, while in high school. He explained, “I was the lead singer with a lot to say and I had a platform for my voice to be heard. As the frontman on stage, it challenged me to find creative new ways to engage with the crowd and keep them entertained”. 

After moving to FL in 1998 he was introduced to ‘Underground Dance Music’. Instantly gravitating to its ground-pounding beats & heavenly melodies, he was hooked! He recalls, “Every time the DJ put the needle on the record, the dance floor would just erupt! It was a completely new experience and I was mesmerized by it”. He went to the record store the next day and bought his first Florida Breaks vinyl. 

After relocating to TX 5 years later (2003) he bought some turntables and began the journey of mixing records. In no time at all, ‘DJ Alevy8’ was born! He brought a different sound to the table, spinning ‘FL Funky Breakz’, gaining him the respect of local DJs and Promoters. He soon became a crowd favorite, quickly gaining traction with a growing fanbase from every show. Within his first year he branched out across the country and in a few short years was fortunate to share the stage with several amazing DJs, including some of the best in the world,  Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Darude, DJ Icey, Donald Glaude, Vicious Vic, Sidney Sampson, Starkillers, Jay Hardaway, and Swanky Tunes. 

Following several years in hiatus, ALEVY8 has been in the studio learning the ropes of production and fine-tuning his unique sound. He believes music is infinite & always evolving. Noting that his aim is finding that next level frequency for liftoff.
