Unbeknown to human eyes, it slowly spreads and spans across the soil. Well guarded from sunlight it grows inside until it comes to fruition in its whole glory. Have a taste, don’t be shy. Mycelia are interwoven with forest floors and provide a most subtle form of communication. Under the veil of darkness words are not important anymore, our feelings will lead the way through doors of deception into a world that’s strangely parallel to the one we accepted as the real one for so long. What is real anyway?

Well. Honestly we don’t know any more than you. But what’s definitely real is the feels we get from this beautiful collage of sounds, carefully crafted to perfection by Ameli Paul. The Berlin based duo has already made quite the name for themselves with their enchanting live performances and releases. Just like the universe, their catalogue and ours alike (and maybe soon even your vinyl collection) expands with Mycelia.

Spanning from a hot and hungry rave-ioli approach at dance floors over into a soft and cozy fireplace cuddle, just for a second though, only to hop back onto the dance floor with nothing less than a double remix by brutalo-disco hero Curses and finished off with Brigade pulling out the whipped cream and sprinkles on the opener, this release may as well be called a micro album instead of the ordinary acronym “EP”. Or mini at least.

Anyways, we are maximally delighted to welcome the two on our little adventure label.
May these songs offer you some (de)light in the upcoming months of darkness, you are not alone out there.

Between some intense FIFA sessions and Jackson's new beach-libertine way of living, @thomassjackson and @theusmago found some time to make a bit of new music.

Live jamming at the beginning and then, in pandemic times via the world wide web, they managed to finish 4 tracks that are a showcase of all the things they like, hate and a bit more. After brilliant appearances on Correspondant, Futureboogie and Duro, Hard Fist is happy to welcome the first collaborative EP of those two major artists from the Mexican psychedelic contemporary scene.

For the 23rd EP on Heimlich Musik, Franz Matthews collaborates with label veteran Johannes Klingebiel and Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Semodi, delivering two original mixes accompanied with remixes by Random Atlas and Balam. 

"Signs“ is the result of a spontaneous collaboration between Franz Matthews and Johannes Klingebiel which started after a few drinks and builds on instrumental recordings. A powerful bassline and melancholic pads are used to reflect the message of the vocals to welcome the unexpected signs of life in a positive way. 
Evolving from a long-lasting friendship with Semodi, "Law of Attraction“ is an enchanting arrangement carried by a subtle guitar and vocals about rewiring your own behavioral patterns for a more fulfilling existence. 

Chilean duo Random Atlas pick up the bassline and main theme of "Signs“ in their remix while their powerful signature disco sound is magnified by the use of additional drum elements, analog synth lines, and electric guitars.
Balam recreates "Law of Attraction“ as an ecstatic club track based on hypnotic drums while keeping the spirit of the original, rounding up the EP as a whole.

There were some unconfirmed, but very plausible reports of sightings of a crashed U.F.O. in or around Bogota, Colombia. And indeed, all the orchestrated government cover-ups in the world couldn’t make us believe that there isn’t a duo of weirdly Scandinavian-looking aliens strolling around that area. But, alas, they seem to be of the friendly, if trippy, kind.
What they seem to be mostly interested in, is handing out 808 space cakes and inquiring about nearby raves, absorbing influences of the indigenous culture on their path. First-hand reporters claim to having gone on extensive ayahuasca trips with them and binging hard on empanadas afterwards. So yeah, seems like nothing to worry here, they come in peace and bring the trippy shit!

BEFORE EDM THERE WAS EBM 😉

I am breathing electronic music since late 70s and that's over 44 years now. From Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Alphaville, Men without Hats, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Front 242, Anne Clark, Camouflage, Gary Numan, OMD, Apopytygma Berzerk and even the Commodore 64 demo & break dance scene to more contemporary Electronic music artists, I witnessed the evolution of Electronic music, which basically means I am an old fart and consider myself an authority in this music genre 😵 Currently I listen DnB almost exclusively. But I do not like to restrict myself at all, enjoying flavors like Electronica, Trance, Psytrance, Tech House, Dubstep, Deep House, Future Pop, Trap, Techno, UK Bass and of course EBM/Industrial as well.

What you will find in my likes and playlists is the top of the crop in Electronic Music, I will  absolutely not list any bullshit. A track I have not listed might be just that: Bullshit, just mediocre or an artistic gem which I have not discovered yet.  I also uploaded some tracks which I thought were missing in Soundcloud but shouldn't be missed out.

I hope you will enjoy the journey like I did so far.

My list is of course not complete and my journey to Electro Heaven still continues ;)

WARNING: Most of my listed songs are not suited for dancing because I don't choose my tracks according to their compatibility with the dancefloor or the artist's popularity ranking (i did not list a single song/remix of teen-favorites like Madonna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Sia, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Scooter, Die Antwoort, etc , because we adults are not attracted by visual performances any more, but by musical artistry and mastery, aka what remains when all is distilled down to the core, sorry to disappoint you ;)). I have strict criteria like originality, ingenuity and passion and love the artist has put into the song. If it has a genuine melody/vibe, seethes with artistic devotion and has over-the-top vocals it's definitely a plus. Ad hoc compositions for the sake of loud noise or a quick buck I definitely will not list here.

FINAL NOTE: My playlists are exquisite, World Class and a treasure trove for every serious DJ out there ;)
