Exactly today 20 years ago Watergate opened its doors for the very first time! 20 crazy years of Berlin club culture. Honored to be part of the anniversary celebrations. Closing the club with a 6 hour set after a turbulent show by maestro Maceo Plex in the main floor felt unreal.

Have a relisten of the 6 hours morning adventure with lots of new tracks by some (or since it is 6 hours actually a lot) of my fav artists and colleagues. Plus quite a few unreleased own tracks.

🦋 Wie hast du Silvester verbracht?
- Ich bin kein großer Fan von Silvester und arbeite stattdessen lieber, um anderen eine schöne Nacht zu bereiten. Dieses Silvester konnte man mich sogar in meinem resident Club hinter der Bar und dann anschließend hinterm Pult finden. Danach gings dann erstmal zu Freunden zu deren After Hour.

🦋 Gibt es schon Festival Dates wo wir dich diesen Sommer auf jeden Fall sehen dürfen?
- Ich bin dieses Jahr unter anderen in Kroatien beim 3000Grad am Meer und natürlich dem 3000Grad Festival in Feldberg. Zudem kann man mich mal wieder auf dem Wurzel Festival hören. Es kommen aber noch ein paar tolle Überraschungen dieses Jahr, die ich jetzt noch nicht verraten darf.

🦋 Steht bei dir dieses Jahr irgendwas großes an?
- Wenn alles klappt, bringe ich vielleicht schon dieses Jahr meinen ersten Track raus, den ich gemeinsam mit einem guten Freund produziert habe. Darauf bin ich schon sehr gespannt, wie dieser Weg noch so weiterlaufen wird.

Zu elektronischer Musik tanzen ist sie schon immer gern gegangen. Ihre Musik einer fremden Feier-Crowd zu präsentieren, war aber eigentlich nicht der Plan.
 Als Mia Mangata aus diversen Gründen jenem Vergnügen eine Weile nicht mehr nachgehen konnte, wurde die Sehnsucht nach der Musik einfach zu groß und … schwupps, da stand auch schon das erste DJ-Equipment in den eigenen vier Wänden. 🤩
Kaum begonnen (2019), legte die gebürtige Frankfurterin einen echten Kickstart hin: direkt zu Beginn von “Jeden Tag ein Set” gefeatured, ist sie mittlerweile in Clubs wie dem KitKat, dem Ritter Butzke, dem Mensch Meier uvm. bekannt. Auch deutschlandweit sowie in den Niederlanden oder Polen, heizte sie ihrem Publikum bereits mit ihrem energetischen Sound ein. Dabei bewegen sich ihre Sets von Melodic Techno über Indie Dance bis hin zu Progressive House. Seit 2022 gibt es von ihr auch Techno à la 129 - 134 BPM unter dem Namen M² auf die Ohren.

For episode thirty I thought I'd change things up a bit. So far the mix series has been focusing on showcasing DJ's that I enjoy what they are doing at a local level here in Australia along with further abroad too. This is the first mix in the series that I have put together myself the recording from a recent visit to Brisbane Meanjin via a live stream from @QUIVR which is a venue, education facility and livestream location all in one. Well worth checking out if you happen to be in the area.

For the thirty sixth episode we invite @noisecasino to provide the soundtrack, who hails from Bogota, Columbia and currently based in Berlin. The mix is a melting pot of bass influenced breakbeats, rhythms and grooves staring at a steady 100bpm slowly working with the tempo as the mix progresses, keeping it modern and engaging which is a nice refreshing change from the more high octane sets I have come across of late. 


This was recorded at the @delphiciris Records launch party, a new label I co-own which was recorded at @kimchirecordz in Berlin.
An excellent soundtrack that paired well with the informal afternoon summer vibe of the launch and was a standout on the day (as were all of the guests). Im happy to have a chance to review the track list to dig into some of the excellent producers and labels that are new discoveries to me also.

We welcome Matt Lush aka @lushy303 to the very first installment of the Delphic Iris Mix Series recorded live from our launch last year at @kimchirecordz in Berlin, a killer deep and groove heavy all vinyl set recorded on their lovely Bozak mixer for extra crispy sound.

This series is a handpicked selection of artists and friends of the label whom we enjoy their vibe, energy, and thoughtful musical curation.

We aim to highlight both our own releasing artists as well as selectors in our general community, whether they are based in Berlin, Sydney, or beyond.

As eclectic and chaotic as the Delphic Iris's visions themselves, our mix series will be somewhat sporadic in schedule and touch on both functional club music and its weirder hybrid edges. 

The series aims to channel otherworldly energy, intricate rhythms, and textures that we hope will take you on wild and unique journeys

Born in Melbourne and currently based in Berlin, Matt has been playing records and hosting events for over 20 years.

Originally a more straight up techno deejay, inspired by the likes of Mills and Garnier; these days Matt likes to traverse the dark line between techno, house, electro and acid music.

His artistry behind the decks is a perfect blend of infectious energy, deep musical knowledge and seamless mixing, expertly reading the room who is equally at home in an intimate club space to an expansive warehouse party.

Flat Earthers seem to have been making a comeback with the advent of the internet peaking in the mid 1990s. While most people dropped this belief in the 1300s it has seen a resurgence, with a rise in membership.
These are clearly people who do not 'Believe in Rock.' Cannibal Ink are at the heart of this EP from Days of Being Wild, however, everyone's favourite Italian American Luca Venezia AKA Curses gets in on the act... as if that was not enough, Disco Halal and Multi Culti signed double act Simple Symmetry have his the remix duties, which turn a rockabilly original into a high octane disco classic which quite possibly feels more love than Moroder and Summer.
What was a guitar from the original becomes a droney timestretched blanket coated in toms and yet more guitar and a little bit more guitar thrown in for good measure. 
Days of Being Wild has been around for a number of years now and has been played by the likes of Chloe, Daniel Avery, Red Axes, Damian Lazarus and countless other top DJs. With Cannibal Ink splitting to go their separate ways, this label is the perfect place to bow out, with the perfect people to help them in Luca, Sasha and Sergey.
