The Metalheadz back catalogue features almost every major figure in the history of drum and bass, and is one of the most innovative labels out there, consistently crossing boundaries with its releases since 1994. The labels output continues to showcase a maturing genre of music that displays influences from reggae, hip-hop, house and techno with highly-sophisticated and intricately-produced tracks, contrary to the image of the music that is typically presented by the mass media.

Releasing music from some of the biggest names out there whilst at the same time pushing and letting new talent break through are the reasons why Metalheadz continues to stay at the forefront of electronic music.

The Metalheadz label was also the driving force behind the seminal Sunday Session Club Nights, which achieved legendary status at London's Blue Note club. Today, Metalheadz club nights are often sell outs with the label also regularly hosting stages at some of the biggest festivals across the world.

The Gentleman Squatter spent his young life at private school where he learned how to classically sing and he honed his musical talent by composing classical/orchestral music scores

After school Elliot (The Gent..) then started squatting in abandoned buildings in a multitude of different cities (Such as Cambridge, London and Nijmegen) and helping crews organise raves and electronic music events (usually in the abandoned buildings)

It was during this period of his life he got into DJing because living in abandoned buildings was a boring undertaking unless you developed a hobby and DJing was the obvious choice for a musician in the particular circumstances (after all the equipment was available to use).

One day he was thinking to himself whilst smoking a spliff in an abandoned laboratory that he lived in. He thought "I used to compose orchestral music, and I was pretty good at it too! Why don't I try and convert those skills into making the music that I DJ today." and that was the day he decided to himself that he would research deep into the world of audio production and audio engineering.

Jungle DJ and Producer/Remixer out of Birmingham.

My musical style is Jungle, I play the full spectrum from Old Skool to New Skool, the full Jungle Spectrum.

I've been dj-ing in clubs since 1997, mainly on the local midlands scene.  Over the last 10 years I have started to spread my wings and play out a lot more around the country.  I hosted a weekly radio show on various stations from 2008 - 2014, I pulled the plug on that to focus more time on making the music rather than playing it.  Some of my old shows are still available on Soundcloud.

2016 saw the release of my Rough Love EP on Deep in the Jungle Records featuring a remix from the mighty DJ Hybrid.  I've had tracks and remixes featured on many on Deep in the Jungle releases to date and have been privileged to have tracks remixed by K Jah, Jinx, DJ Monk, Brian Brainstorm, Kosine and SR.  In 2017 I remixed a track featuring Cheshire Cat on Kingston Express and have plenty more releases in store for 2018 and beyond on Deep in the Jungle Records including a new EP in early 2018, colabs with Hungry T, Cheshire Cat and Tim Ryan plus a few remix projects on some different labels.

Garage Classics has been set up to let you acquire those 'hard to find' classic garage tracks. We will be uploading Classic Garage tracks on a weekly basis, giving away free downloads and mixes each week.

Feel free to contact us if you are after a GARAGE track and cant find it anywhere, we will do our best to track it down and upload for you.

All tracks are ripped from the original vinyl's so you may hear some cracks and pops in some really old tracks, but all have been re-mastered, and we have tried to get them to the best standard possible.

Tracks that were released on labels that are still in function wont be downloadable, and if you are an artist, and we have uploaded your track please contact us should you want it removed and we will do so immediately.

This page is here so we can enjoy (and not forget) some old GARAGE CLASSICS! We do not intend to cause offence or loss of earnings for artists.
