Manny seems to have a never ending supply of talent oozing out of it’s corners and cracks - a city with an obviously stellar musical history - a history being continuously added to. 

Motiv is one of the next breed of these Manchester talents, and after having only seemingly recently risen to the surface, his already hugely impressive and wide ranging discography shows that this young producer really means business and is a name that’s here to stay.

It feels like there’s already a ‚Motiv Sound‘, his tracks always possessing a well rounded sound and a coherent and progressive musical structure. This sounds like music made by someone who’s been about for years and is just solidly plying their craft, rolling out lush musical joints one after the other like it’s no big thing. That’s pretty sick.

And so we had to get him on CIA - and not only is he on the label - he’s come with five fresh cuts, just like that, and that’s his ‘Downpour’ EP.

Dear Mix Diary,
Everything feels very up and down at the moment. Some days are really good days, and some days are not so good.
These songs make me sit with my feelings. Slow life down. Take a small break.
There were a few tears for "Katara" because it reminded me of how far I've come since last year. But it's okay to cry when you mix. "Madres" always makes me feel like I'm sat in a cloud.
Sometimes it's nice to just sit with the music for a little while and forget the real world.
Will write again soon.

Meanwhile ’Told You’ sets a forward momentum with dreamy pads, filtered synths and a vocal refrain that drips in authenticity; it’s off kilter bass line sets the groove alongside a shuffled barrage of break beats & accompanying percussion which keeps things moving.

Closing track ’Sensation’ triumphantly rounds out the release with it’s nostalgic vocals, fizzy pads, and dominating technical assault of twisted midrange grit, layered alongside a weighty bass line!

Proceeding with the aim to promote the best in underground drum and bass music, we're excited to present man of the moment, Halogenix, on guest mix duties ahead of his headline performance at our next event in London 27th Sept, alongside unannounced special guests, Document One, Ill Truth and residents.

Just under a year ago, our debut sold-out event saw special guests Sub Focus, Culture Shock and Dimension blow the roof off The Nest, with a similar showcase at our second event in March – Pendulum, Friction and Dimension. The special guests will be at a similar level this September.

You will not find the calibre of these Drum & Bass headliners in a small capacity club anywhere else in the world. Strictly underground, strictly heads.
