With his last EP offering on Keinemusik, &ME displayed himself once again as supplier of anthems that easily reconcile style with general floor purpose. You would think, such an universal and inexhaustible tune as this very “After Dark” can only be a lucky hit. But no, he’s knocking out the classic material just like that. Another example? Catalog number KM028, his brandnew “Trilogy” EP.
The titletrack on A initially places a synth arpeggio behind a kick that in dryness is hardly to excel. The beat of "Trilogy" is then seasoned with rimshot patterns until the saturated bassdrum comes in and paves the way to the dancefloor. &ME even refines his knack for stoic grooves on this jam and once again shows his sure feeling for suitable vocal features. Sabotas croon comes devoid of big gestures and still knows the ropes to appeal to the collective mentality of a clubcrowd.
On the flipside, “Woods” is living up to its name from the very beginning. Woody percussions are thumping within an almost subtropical scenario that’s frequently pervaded by mighty synth clouds. And once again, there’s an arpeggio sneaking in that at some point is taking the lead in this strictly instrumental affair. Add a break building that will educe a floor’s complete euphoric potential without going for the rather mindless escalation and there you have it: a B-side that’s actually more of an A-competitor.

&ME - Woods (KM028)

This typically bombastic three-tracker of explosive, crowd-moving techno opens with ‘U Said U’. A massively hyped tracks that has been the subject of huge fan-demand since it first featured on Beyer’s Drumcode Radio in January. However, ’Love Siren’ will battle it out for the most attention from punters, packed with all the power and punch required to knock over festival crowds as it systematically builds and drops this is one for the big open air stages. ‘Rumours’ wraps things up in slightly more understated but non-the-less effective fashion with its drawn out, tension building intro mushrooming into a crescendo of sleazy chords and sparking melodies.

With Pan-Pot’s eagerly anticipated album, 'The Other’ on the horizon, it's only fitting that we begin early with a glimpse of what’s to come. 

'The Other One' is the first of two EPs from the duo's upcoming long player and with the two carefully selected tracks; 'Pina' and '808 Nirvana', it's exactly what you come to expect from the duo. 

'808 Nirvana' is a white knuckle ride laced with fast paced stabs, shakers and snares while meteoric rises carry you into deep space. 'Pina', aptly titled after the newborn addition to the family, is a bundle of energy. It constantly grows larger and more complex before finally unleashing a fierce, sonic blast that wouldn’t seem out of place on the soundtrack to a Hitchcock film. In perfect Pan-Pot fashion.

It's no secret that we are massive fans of the legendary ‘BXR’ label from Mauro Picotto here at Outburst! Mario Piu was the ‘yang’ to Mauro's ‘ying’ in the studio back in the day - and with a ridiculous amount of immense genre-busting collaborations, they dominated the trance/techno scene together. After Mario's techno debut last year on Techburst, we now proudly present his long overdue return to the trance scene! The Voolgarizm mix of 'Thunderstruck' is a classic-meets-modern tech-trance soundclash! With it's infectious groove and jagged stabs the track thunders along to the break - where a recognisable and catchy (yet seriously chilling) lead riff grabs us by the throat and just doesn't let go. The track's power-packed drop does not disappoint when it kicks in for some serious main-stage-mayhem! Mario's Original Mix supplies us with a more techno-driven alternative that packs every bit as much punch, but is more aimed towards those hazy and smokey 4am club moments. With it’s ‘stripped back’ tribal feel, this mix compliments the release to complete the ultimate package. Mario Piu - Thunderstruck (Voolgarizm Mix) [Outburst Records] PREVIEW

2nd Phase are Techburst (and Outburst residents) and are some of the most versatile producers that we have on our roster. They're back with a follow up to their heavily supported 'Agenda 21' release. It's called 'Protocol' and is one of their toughest sounding releases to date. With an extremely powerful kickdrum and bassline partnership, the awesome sub bass rumble definitely dominates this track. Traditional sounding techno chord stabs and rolling vocal samples are cleverly scattered throughout to add groove. They are later complimented by a sinister detuned synth section in the main break that adds 'menace' to the overall feel. One of the undoubted leaders of the hard techno scene, Darmec, steps up for remix duties and yet again shows us why he has scored so many Beatport #1's. He puts his own stamp on the release and adds that Darmec touch that we all love. Techno releases don't come much bigger than this, check it out!

DC172 comes on behalf of Brazilian born Vinicius Honorio, a now London based producer and DJ who is making some serious in-roads amongst a new breed of techno artists. Having already released on labels such as Pig&Dan’s Elevate and dubspeeka’s Skeleton, the next natural step in his progression comes in the form of a release on Drumcode. 

‘Through The Darkness’ is a masterclass in darkened techno grooves, with each one of the four tracks managing to show off Honorio’s skill as a producer and just why he is firing on all cylinders. The release kicks off with ‘Walking Shadow’, a track that has been a key part of Adam Beyer’s sets at the tail end of 2016 and in to the new year. This tense, brooding affair has certainly garnered a lot of attention of late and it’s clear to see why. The title track ‘Through The Darkness’ is a much more of a stripped back cut, jam-packed with a haunting vocal hook, driving basslines and slick drums. This is one for the late night mischief makers. ‘Desolate’ is another hard-hitter, managing to perfectly balance that signature Honorio groove and pounding drums that adds depth to his productions. The release closes with the atmospheric ‘Out For Blood’, which is loaded with vintage rave stabs and weighty basslines – This one is meant to played in dark and sweaty rooms.

Vinicius Honorio - Desolate - Drumcode - DC172

2016 was a standout year for Alan Fitzpatrick, with the Drumcode stalwart racing out of the gates in spectacular fashion with the release of his fabric 87 mix. A substantial amount of high profile shows followed, including appearing at the inaugural Junction 2 festival and closing the car park to a packed-to-the-rafters-crowd at Drumcode Halloween. He returns to Drumcode with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, marking his first appearance on the label since late 2016 when he remixed Moby’s seminal ‘Porcelain’.

The release opens with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, a track which caused a Twitter meltdown on Alan’s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. It’s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. ‘Wait A Second’ feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of Adam Beyer’s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on Drumcode Radio. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with ‘Trance, Init?’; A homage to Alan’s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a DJ, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

​Like many great techno purveyors before her, VONDA7 has landed in Berlin, by way of Poznan, Poland. But where VONDA7 shines is in her ability to fine-tune the hypnotic waves of today's techno with her take on heavy and the tank-like force of Detroit-rooted sound. Following up with her release on Sasha's Last Night On Earth imprint earlier this year, VONDA7 now arrives on Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains with 'Cuckoo Night', a swirling and pounding techno driver, out on August 28.

Since 2014, Complexed Records have been supporting DJs whose hard graft involves producing futurist techno. Although the label is fairly embryonic, it’s become a moving in uence on every established techno dance oor. Restoring sanctity to dystopian suburbias, be sure to expect brutalist ballads and disharmonic prayer calls from this straight-to-the-point techno label.

Drumcomplex (Arnd and Daniel Reichow), the founders of the label (who hold an enriched discography and over 20 years of DJing experience), are set to release their new Gravity EP - out this September. As always this EP falls nothing short of big room mastery. Think technological tribalism; uid waves of pure techno, ful lling the electronic appetites of the masses. However, all that the Reichow brothers compose, manage to accommodate different levels of listening at- tention - whether it’s the rst or last track played in the club it’s sure to stay with you.

Planetary Planetary hits hard with saw-esk devices that explore the polytone percussional textures. Metallic divisions re ect the premonitions of climatic sound, whilst the disruptive sampling stirs a secondary dissonance in the factory-line beat rotation.

Gravity Gravity syncopates mechanical, harp-like sampling around the backbone of the kick. With some old-school acid ascensions and tripped up claps, this track promotes a retro slam-dunk rave.

Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Nick Beringer finds himself on Organic Music once again, this time supplying two tracks to the 'Synergy' EP, which also includes two tracks from Wax Isgud head honcho Tato.

Mixmag presents the exclusive premiere of Beringer's 'High Lines', a stripped back floor filler from the depths of the deepest deep house. The German producer has been steadily carving out his place in the underground with releases on Taverna Tracks and Käse Kool, while also launching his Rubisco label earlier this year. Expect more raw grooves to surface soon from this fresh talent.

Look for the 'Synergy' EP to be released September 15.
