The contrast between the writing for this and the canon OUAT sequence is about as stark as the contrast between the tracks these yielded themselves. Makes sense! But that doesn't mean I won't act surprised. Since it's been a while since I've even touched the oldest script -- one that *I* wrote, believe it or not -- I 100% forgot what the old premise even was. Frankly I still don't! I'd sift through my DMs with Slick but I'm not even sure if I ever actually properly discussed this AU with him back in the day or if I just... kept it to myself for the most part.

While The Midnight Train Going Anywhere technically only has original motifs, the motif I ended up creating for the first section is definitely heavily inspired by this particular rendition of Around 2010.

Also that bit at the end was supposed to be way funnier if I just knew how to phrase it properly, since the point was like. "They're all you(/yourself), too".

I guess this is where I explain the weird history I've had with Mycaesium's name, huh.

Alright, so... many many MANY years ago, back when I was a wee idiot making music on fucking Midsequer, I would often try to make my self-insert Megalo. As one frequently does. Before Slick finally came up with Mycaesium, I'd tried my own hand at naming these monstrosities. I'm pretty sure the very first version was called like MANIACALOVANIA (before I changed it to HAPPYLOVANIA when uploading it, mind you) or some dumb bullshit

Contrary to what DashingToadietale would have you believe I actually used to be a pretty positive person? So much so that I was basically trying to come up with the name for "happiness mania", as one did back in 2016-2017.
Eventually I think it went to "Manicdepressionlovania" for like, maybe one version, because... I don't. I really don't know. Some dark ages shit for sure, though. Anyways, eventually I added two plus two, being that there was a much easier word for "manic depression" (one that I'm also certain is just. More correct nowadays anyways), that being Bipolar.

I'm gonna go a head and acknowledge that that might've been a particularly poor move on my part! Naming a self-insert Megalo after a mental disorder -- especially one you don't have -- is not a good thing to do! But I was like 16 and chronically only, I sadly didn't know much better (even if I arguably should've), it... honestly took me a bit too long to realize the problem in it. I think I just thought it sounded cool and that was pretty much the only reason I kept it that way as long as I did.

There was, however, ANOTHER person with the bright fucking idea to name their Megalo BIPOLAR, someone who would amass a much greater following by the time they'd release that than I had at the time. I'll skip the whole "weird one-sided joke rivalry" segment of my 5 year monologue here but eventually it just kind of became a personal in-joke that we both ended up going for the same name for our self-insert Megalos, even if that's not what mine's called these days.
