Nice touch on the refix, both tunes are bliss

Celebrating our tenth release on the imprint, Austrian-based producer Gnischrew comes through with some luscious dub-soaked 140. The @subaudiorecords record label owner is known for sculpting highly detailed soundscapes and pairing these shifting auditory images with the deep grooves of Dubstep and European Dub rhythm sections.

Unlike our previous releases, SASDUB10 will be housed in a thick card sleeve, stamped with a design by Welsh-based Ink artist Joe Bevan (InkVoid) inspired by the surrealist mind of Salvador Dalí.

A - Shackles
Having been a dub for a hot minute by this point, Shackles will catch the eye of anyone familiar with Gnischrew's recent Frozen Plates mix. This is a masterfully crafted arrangement of soft and mournful pads, a powerful bassline and a huge reverberant space. The sum of these parts provoke a deeply profound and meditative mood.

B - Ruminate 
Whilst maintaining the 140 speed and style in a consistent manner, Gnischrew moves to a heavily dub/reggae-inspired skank on the flipside of his release. Of course including the obligatory thicc bassline, the producer provides a vortex of complex space arrangements and intensely rhythmic backbeats to complement the summery atmosphere which immediately manifests with a single spin of this composition.

All records will be hand-cut by the dubplate-cutting master Henry Bainbridge at @Dubstudio onto 10" transparent plates.

Always coming correct with his signature brand of electronica - bittersweet narratives constructed from tough drums and breaks, dripping with jazz & soul, with vocal samples immaculately woven into the framework, Marenn Sukie - real name Chris Roth - caught our attention instantly with his solo releases on Apollo, Deep Heads and Otaku, and his collaborative work with Synkro. 

The “Enough of You” EP is another ridiculously strong body of work from Chris, and one that we’re proud to champion as another gem in the Chikara catalogue. It’s our exclusively from our bandcamp store on Friday 5th November, and it’s out in full on 12th November, which happens to be Chris’ birthday, so make sure you run it up for him.

Review by Juno Download: As soon as we saw that Dub Communication were launching a remix EP for Mystic Fyah's epic 'Dynamite' project, we jumped for joy, even higher once discovering the involved roster. We kick off in typically mind-boggling style as Frenk Dublin delivers a shimmering rethink of 'Righteous', giving those silky vocals and even spacier feel, coupled with some gorgeous chord work. Next, a much more electronic recreation of 'Travelling' from SmallTownDubz, a creeping, pluck-driven overhaul of 'Nebula' from Skruff and the digital march that is born within dub Troubles' rethink of 'Dropin', all offering a different digital perspective on the original EP. Finally, Stillhead arrives for a second bite at 'Travelling', this time delivering an almost himalayan-sounding overhaul, focussing on heavily reverberated chants and spacey textures for a perfect round off.

Cold, low-frequency introductions absorb light that swiftly stupefies a moth by the illusion of open space. The force of gravity is so great that its wings are not able to overcome the temptation. Swinging drums along with matte slow-motion chords write out unpredictable zigzags, reminiscent of the outlines of volcanoes and fjords.

Crackle noises, ambiences and rolling chords building up to a tight, half time rhythm. Basslines responding to the chords and echoing vocal and saxphones shots filling up the rest of the spectrum.
