Van Hassel first made his appearance in the music scene doing live electronic performances of original creations in the coastal city of Vancouver, Canada. He has grown from his love for synthesis and song writing, to a producer/DJ with a creative ear in sound design and experimental bass music.

It was a dance party in a Vancouver warehouse in 1998 that was Florian's introduction to electronic music, and he immediately knew he wanted to delve deeper.  Over the following years, he got involved in all sorts of events.  From indoor club / hall shows to multi-day outdoor festivals, he eventually became the general manager of the Sunset Room in downtown Victoria where he worked for 5 years.  When Florian was 16, he began investigating the alchemy of beats, basslines and melody.  He's studied the domains of glitch, dub, breaks, trance, and house in all its forms with great diligence, and now uses them to deliver a potent blend of sonic bliss that draws each individual towards the dancefloor experience. After 13 years of DJ'ing and being involved in organizing hundreds of shows, Florian is now a budding producer.
