Tom has been hosting the renowned Tech Talk events and is a booker for Berlin's cherished Paloma, so he knows what to tweak in his studio and how to get a floor working. Dubbed out flows and sweet R&B melodies get a pumping rework with 303 bass and deep pads, hinting at a sound that is to become his future trademark style.

20 years ago, i started my electronic music journey and about 8 of them, i produce my own waveforms. I’ve always tried to bring my own visions to life and do the things i love in the way that seems to be right for me. With Spectral Ranges my first album arrives and i‘m very exited to finally present it to you all.

A huge part of my art always has been the DIY concept. The projects goal was to do it 100% my self. Starting from writing and producing the music, up the to mastering and building 100 wooden cd cases including carbonated compact discs for the physical version of the album. I seriously underestimated how much work you can put into a project like this and realized, that especially the physical version isn’t buildable alone in terms of precision and an overall good quality, so the guys from CNC-Holzbude (www.cnc-holzbude.de - special thanks to Mr.Chips) helped me out in the development process and milled the raw cases with their CNC-Machine.

Just as the music is inspired by nature, so are the cd cases. They are handmade products, mostly out of natural materials. CNC-milled at CNC-Holzbude (www.cnc-holzbude.de - special thanks to Mr.Chips). Hand-sanded, glued, assembled, painted and hand-stamped by Schulz Audio. There are of course irregularities and flaws which give every single case its own uniqueness.

The overall project is a synthesis of art for me and i hope you find some peace and inspiration in it.

The landscapes of Orlan 19 resembled the dream of a mad cartographer: cliffs were floating above the surface, horizons were bending and vanishing into infinity, and energy vortices were flaring up beneath their feet in psychedelic patterns. The familiar laws of physics didn’t apply here — gravity shifted chaotically, and time flew with unpredictable intensity. As Spacelunch, absorbed in thought, stroked the ground which distorted like a mirage under his touch, Cat’s grumbling echoed simultaneously from the past and future:

— Doc, don’t you think we’re just walking in circles?
— No wonder. That’s how inverse modelling works. Every action we take reshapes the surrounding space.
— Can you explain it in simpler terms? There’s only one genius here.
— Ever heard of the Philadelphia Experiment?
— Of course! You know how much I love sushi rolls!
— Well, I set myself up for this predicament… Back in my university days, we experimented with magnetic fields trying to program them by thought. You get where I’m going, don’t you? The planet is reacting to our intentions. So, focus on visualizing the portal.

The confusion on Cat’s face gave way to a mask of detachment. Clusters of matter began to tremble pulling the threads of reality to their breaking point before finally forming a vortex. Having devoured as much as it could, the vortex snapped shut with a loud pop and dissolved in a blinding flash.

As the scene began to take shape, silhouettes emerged under the soft glow of a desk lamp, evoking an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. A worn desk and a small bed stood by the wall adorned with faded photographs, while the floor let out a gentle creak underfoot. The clearer the interior came to be, the more paralyzing the realization, and the more elusive the explanation for what had happened became.

— Holy…! Cat, are we looking at the same thing?
— Yeah, but… This can’t be real.

Spacelunch slowly approached the window and froze still. A single thought raced through his mind: “The only force strong enough to pull me this far… was love.”

"W kolekcji starych kaset domu działkowicza, pomiędzy archiwalnymi nagraniami wsadów Michała Jordana, audycjami Wojciecha Manna oraz czarno-białymi teledyskami De Mono, znajdowała się również pewna zielona kaseta z podpisem ETNOBOTANIKA.

Jakieś dziwne. Nikt z nas nie pamiętał, żeby była tam wcześniej. Nikt nawet nie wie, kiedy została nagrana. Zdecydowaliśmy się opublikować ten materiał jeszcze przed zachodem słońca."

ETNOBOTANIKA to tajemniczy duet ze stolicy Górnego Śląska, który jedną nogą stoi twardo na gruncie muzyki elektronicznej, a drugą bada tereny sampli i hip-hopu. Ich wzrok i uszy zwrócone są ku skrawkom przeszłości - fragmentom starych polskich filmów, na wpół zapomnianym serialom, wyrywkom z mniej i bardziej znanych rodzimych piosenek nagranych przed laty. Te wszystkie skojarzenia i tropy znajdziemy na ich debiutanckiej płycie długogrającej - „Fruwający przestępca”. Album wydany nakładem Superkasety Records to kolaż melodii i dźwięków znanych, ale zarazem brzmiących obco i budzących niepokój. Duet zabiera słuchaczy w podróż, ale nie tylko w bujną krainę nostalgii, także na nowe terytoria gatunkowe. Usłyszymy tu zupełnie inne, osobne wręcz podejście do techniki samplowania i łączenia beatmakerskich praktyk z instrumentami i brzmieniem współczesnej muzyki elektronicznej. „Fruwający przestępca” to 15 utworów, które równie skutecznie pobudzą wyobraźnię w domowym zaciszu, jak i ciało w klubowych półcieniach.
