We’ve assembled all of Funnuvojere’s heroes: James Booth, Jules Etienne, Rotciv, Derek Neal, Armonics, Goodbye Mirage, Reformed Society, Clarinets, our special guest mighty Paramida, and myself are all on the menu. 10 hours of nonstop music to take you from cosmic soundscapes to psychedelic gardens, and to embrace you in a big, warm, sonic hug on your private dance-floor.

Number 7 of our OYE Podcast Series is coming from a well-known figure in the dub techno music industry. We are very happy to have him delivering a mix for us. Thanks Kenneth Christiansen
for your recording, which includes a lot of new upcoming stuff and some unreleased tracks.

Kenneth is the owner of Echocord Records one of the most relevant dub techno labels, which has recently celebrated 20 years of activity. He is also running the Echocord sublabel Echocord Colour, and the label and project Pattern Repeat with his long-time friend Resoe. 

Since the late 1990s, Kenneth has frequently been spinning at Tresor in Berlin and other popular clubs and festivals all over Europe. His career in the genre dates back to his time spent working in record stores, running clubs and festivals in his hometown Copenhagen.

Sa3b has prepared treats with a smooth consistency and a strong dub flavour.

The reason for the dinner party is the eve of All Saints' Day. Halloween will accept any adornment and imagery, be it painted faces with sinister grimaces or a costume of a Minimal-antagonist. Jack-o-lanterns ward off all evil and complement the themed decorations while the main guest paints pragmatic silhouettes on the musical canvas.

The pervasive mix sprawls like ivy using effective sonic rebuses and sombre semantic thickets. The close ties of Lebanese culture promote its further development, which finds expression in a romanticised approach and a keen eye for genre variations. The collective image of the selection is vast: the outlines of coastal streets, dim lights and suppressed whispers are evident in Alex Humann's remix, whereas Code Deploy's spiralling rhythmic pattern with its chirping tops gives you goosebumps, and Audub lulls you to sleep with a lamplight glow and goodbyes.

As I often play these records alongside newer releases, I realized most of those classics were more than 25 years old, I thought of compiling them together to show where dub tech comes from and how timeless most of these tracks are...Take a record like Round Four, discovered for a lot of people like me on Daniel Bell's mix (2000) The button down mind of Daniel Bell. More than 25 years onwards, you can look at a record like this, alongside Baby Ford and early Ricardo Villalobos as the blueprint for modern minimal and dubby electronic music, but that would imply that those genres later improved upon the overall formula. In reality, few got even close to as good as this. The origins of a genre is often more important than newer releases. Vainqueur is René Löwe famous from the Chain Reaction label. The B.C. track isn't Basic channel but a moniker which consists of Robert Leiner (Visions of the past) and Cisco Ferreira (The Advent). He never pretends to be like “Mister Know-It-All” but he is a friendly and optimistic human, who likes to share his love for good music and nice vibes. Ezeo is part of a new wave of talents descending from Iceland. Although there are many things that mark him and his home country as unique, it is his universal desire to connect people under a feeling that really drives him.
He formed the VIBES collective who became regulars at the cities top clubs and despite the individual members spreading their wings across Europe maintain a radio show on Icelandic underground stations. 
Ezeo is also a resident at Summer Contrast Festival in Poland and frequently plays in Polish underground scene, which he describes being underestimated by the world.
As a member of a great underground scene, Ezeo has played and hosted venues with Kevin Knapp, Lars Moston, Youandewan, Kerry Chandler, Exos, Ale Castro, Intr0beatz, KrBear.
