Long Gone Are The Old Traditions delivers another sonic message from West-London based producer, singer and songwriter Tutu Ta.
Following on from 2024's "The Shrine", "Clay Birds Are Grey" and most recently "Pepper" - the artist continues to blur the lines between dub, spoken word, beats and post-punk using this to further collect a sound that is unique and powerful. 
"Violence Or Violets" leans into more personal and haunted sounds with the EP bringing ethereal vocals to the forefront while still maintaining a punchy nod to the soundsystems well recognised in the artist home-town. A driven heart provoking siren that is pushing the artist into new lengths and heart-aching sonics.

Guest mix by Zlata aka @artificialdinner (Graz) - from min 60 onwards

Zlata is a sound artist and DJ based in Graz. In her practice she explores eerie, extreme sound environments and textures and incorporates those experiments in her dj sets too. They can best be described as a tightrope walk between moods, styles and rhythms. Zlata manages to combine dark noise, evocative soundscapes and rhythmic patterns to guide the floor in a flow of sound. She is a founding member of CMKK (Computermusik & Klangkunst) - a student community that organizes concerts of experimental electronic music and sound art in Graz.

For the second release on the excellent Magistrate label London-based Aketi Ray meet up with Berlin's Hidden Sequence for a jazz-dub soudnclash of epic proportions.

Hidden Sequence take control of the A-side with their dub reinterpretations of three Aketi Ray tracks and then on the flip you're treated to the original cuts.  I've always felt there's not enough crossover between the worlds of dub and jazz so it's great to hear a record like this where the two genres are so effortlessly and successfully merged creating a refreshing new sound that brings the best of both worlds together.
