French philosopher Georges Bataille once remarked: “I believe that truth has only one face: that of a violent bass and drum combo.”
The tone of the 27th mix by Sandy is filled with club heavy sounds, bringing out some of the finest contemporary Irish and UK underground dance sounds and wubs. 

Can you imagine a world without heavy bass sounds drenched in reverb and dubbed with top layers of riddims and airy pads? We couldn’t either, thankfully Sandy has delivered the goods, to deliver us from the banality of our existence with sounds that will force you to jump out of your chair at once and skank around in your room like a bellend.

Some of the tunes will make you want to commit seditious acts (acts which we can’t necessarily endorse here at DUDJ HQ, but might at least turn a blind eye to). The police siren that can be heard at 16:50 is because the beats are borderline illegal.
It is hard to construct a mix which moves between many subgenres smoothly while simultaneously ramping up the energy in an organic fashion. Sandy, however, carefully curates the sounds of artists such as Tim Reaper (big ups), Prozak, Sully, Van Wilkins, & Roaming Data.

DUDJ Mix Series 027: Sandy

The 28th instalment in our mix series is finally here and it is brought to you by S-Agenda.

The release timing is perfect with clubs reopening this week, she has put together a delicious mix filled with club-oriented, dance-inspiring sounds. 
Whether it’s icy pads and cavernous percussion, or squelching acid lines overdubbed with distorted drums and breaks, the mix radiates and reflects everything a club mix should be.

She has not confined the mix to one sound, instead there is an expert precision in fusing genres and seamless manoeuvring across the spectrum of 4x4 dance music.

Mix 29 in our series is brought to you by selector extraordinaire Gump Mode! As an integral member of the Shed Residents collective, he brings a passion for speedy beats together with an ear for melody and well-timed suspense. There is much to be said for fast techno but typing this is giving me carpal tunnel syndrome so I will refrain from doing so. 
Rolling stompers are of course to be expected anywhere you see the name Gump Mode – step into his world for an hour and hear the cavernous sounds at the forefront of no-frills hard techno.

DUDJ Mix Series 029: GUMP MODE

Mix number 30 in the DUDJ mix series is finally live! DJ Boyfriend brings an hour of contemplative ambient and bedroom beats to the table for a breath of fresh air here at DUDJ HQ. Just because the sun is gone doesn’t mean you have to do away with the bliss of neglecting assignments. The mix’s sonic palette is one of sonder, introspection, and lush arrangements. 
I say this for every mix but prepare to be transported by the airy synths and ethereal Foley sounds that would warm even the coldest selekta’s heart. There’s even like violins and stuff at one point it’s beautiful. Bet you weren’t expecting that from the DUDJ massif. 
This is something we haven’t heard in quite some time and is a marked change from the usual output of our mix series so be sure to give it a listen!

DUDJ Mix Series 030: DJ Boyfriend

Mix 31 in our series by Sahana Desert is finally here. We first met Sahana at the start of the year and she has since played at a few of our gigs, proving herself to be a fantastic selector. This mix packs a punch from start to finish. Expect no nonsense breaks, thick basses, and a healthy assortment of stretched out vocals.
If this doesn’t get you finger gunning and 2-stepping while “studying” in the Lecky, you may be beyond salvation. I found myself saying WOIII several times while listening not sure what I can say to entice you to listen other than that.

Out Of Space: S-Agenda

S-Agenda is a 22-year-old DJ whose versatile style and open-minded selections have seen her grow from strength to strength in the past year. Her mixes draw from a range of sonic influences including techno, trance, electro, rave, and house primarily.

The thoughtful selector puts particular focus on the fusion of old school with the new, to curate a fresh yet nostalgic sound. Having played piano and violin from a young age, she is extremely passionate about music and aims to carry that through to her sound by infusing uplifting, exciting and unexpected blends into her sets. 

While DJing since 2019, the young artist solidified herself within the Dublin scene after winning the Skin & Blister x Forbidden Fruit Emerging Artist Call Out last summer. This saw her earn a coveted spot on the festival’s lineup and smash a later set at its afterparty, supporting homegrown star Saoirse. 

Since then, she has confidently played her way across the Dublin clubscape in the likes of Tengu, SoundHouse, The Grand Social, Bowlane, The Sugar Club, Wigwam, Izakaya and Index, where she rang in the New Year on main support for the legendary DART. Her versatile sound has seen her further land on the bill with an array of artists including Floorplan, Sunil Sharpe, High Fidelity, Jennifer Loveless, Ngoni Egan and Mia Lily. She also hosts a monthly show ‘FACE 4 RADIO’ on Dublin Digital Radio, where any and all electronic genres are explored by herself and various guest DJs who share her passionate ‘no rules, just vibes’ outlook on music.

S-Agenda’s contribution to the Local Selection Series aims not to fit into one box, oscillating from techno and old-school rave to electro, 90s club and psychedelic trance. She overlays persistent pulsing grooves with a tapestry of melodies to bring the listener on a high-energy and dancefloor-oriented journey through her most loved sounds.

Local Selection 201: S - Agenda

S-Agenda and Sahana go back2back (or bestie2bestie) in this 1 hour mix on efa o’neill’s out of space show. This mix takes you on a sonic adventure starting with some classic house gems and old school cuts, eventually making way for proggy trancey goodness and electro, closing out with some newer tribal techno and hard dance. Expect a journey through both old and new sounds that really take you out of space and into another dimension 🌈🪩
