If life is a highway then Mix 33 from Joe Pickles is the Autobahn: Blue Mitsubishi locked in and rolling. High octane rhythms meet the crunchiest of kicks, a timeless combo that brings high energy from the outset. The mix kicks off on a euphoric tip with peak time vocal         slammers sidewinding into each other at breakneck speed. Pickles then moves it into 5th gear with stunning hardgroove rollers that pepper the ears with tribal percussion and old school stabs. 
The brief M1 organ that comes in around halfway sent me places and had me shouting insiiiide in my kitchen, as if Berlin had met Sheffield in the briefest of trysts. This moment of peace in a sea of thumping rollers is the dream of all DJs: to capture the ineffable - a feat Pickles carries out with ease. Last but not least tasteful sprinkles of breaky and bassy electro round off a belter of a mix. Perfect for my Tokyo drifters, this latest addition to our series keeps it fast and furious.
