This summer I was invited to the spectacular Pan:et C festival twice to play some hot fiesta afternoon tunes on our beloved Dubstation floor. So I packed my suitcase full of acoustic gems and took the next rocket to spend some great holidays on the red planet.
This mixtape is not a full recording of both gigs but more like a "best of" from 6 hour playtime in total.

Unedited, unmixed 24 cello multitrack of Vaughan Williams' Variations on a Theme of Thomas Tallis. This was one of the first things I did after coming back to the cello after an unhappy few years away from it. I played this on a borrowed student cello and there is so much that could be better, but it was a work from the heart so I hope you enjoy the moment for what it was.

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire

This track is based on Thomas Tallis’s four-part setting of his psalm tune, “Why fum'th in fight the Gentiles spite, in fury raging stoute,” for Archbishop Parker’s Psalter (1567). This piece has been re-worked by various composers and arrangers. My changes were minimal. In the first section, I simply dropped the lowest line, in the second section I left the parts as is, and in the third section I doubled a few of the parts. This MIDI realization used a sampled flute, a sampled string quartet, and several sampled pipe organs.
