Anthony Child 'All Around And Inside' (EMEGO 215)

Mexican guitarist and ambient artist Eblen Macari's Música Para Planetarios (Music for Planetariums) was originally composed for weekly performances in the Luis Enrique Erro Planetarium in Mexico City to accompany a voyage through the galaxy. The album, released in 1987 was based around Macari's solo performances using Ensoniq ESQ-1, a Korg Poly 800, two guitars and pre-hispanic Ocarinas. The expanded arrangements recorded for the album include a full stable of pre-hispanic percussion and beautiful baroque harpsichord played by Macari's wife. This expansive interplanetary soliloquy is undoubtedly Macari’s masterpiece. Remastered from the original master tapes.

David First likes to use the phrase “the virtuosity of slowness” to describe his musical philosophy. In The Consummation of Right and Wrong, he and his 8-piece ensemble, The Western Enisphere, practice this virtuosity to great effect in closely examining the universes that fall between the cracks of convention, reflecting a wide continuum of complex relationships, all the while giving us music that is simply ravishing to listen to.

 This is "drone music” as dynamic organism, moving from compact and ruminative to spacious and serene and back.

In this 3-CD, 2.5 hours of sonic tessellation, First has alchemized his own personal opposites like never before, combining and transmuting his free-jazz experience with avant-legend Cecil Taylor, his influential noise-rock & roll band Notekillers, his long-abiding love for minimalist, mathematical excavation on dozens of instruments, and a highly refined ear for pop-melodic architectures into a singular, epic set of vibrational possibilities that leaves very few stones unturned in his ongoing quest for the resolution of all extremes.

Laurent Fairon is a French musician, DJ and record collector. Active as a sound art blogger and archivist from 2007 to 2016 via Continuo’s Weblog and Continuo’s Documents. As a composer he has published several cassettes in the early 1990s on various DIY labels.

‘Eclipse Profonde – Experimental Church Organ Music 1970–2020’ is a two hour long mix, focusing on organ+electronics or electroacoustic treatment, as well as organ+live instruments.
