The Soviet Union - Emptyhead

Night Noise returns with a new release from '@thesovietunion' aka Richard Baldwin. Baldwin has a signature style that is cinematic and synth heavy and has been formed over the last decade plus. A fine DJ, experienced promoter and self-confessed addict of vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines, Richard pulls his influences from early electronica, 80s film-scores, and shades of techno right up to the present day. 

This release sees 'The Soviet Union' drawing on all their influences to craft a rugged slice of electronica. 'Emptyhead' is the track and it features additional remixes from Mind Fair, Dance Station and Ondata plus a dub mix from 'The Soviet Union' All in this is another fantastic release from `The Soviet Union' and will only further enhance his growing fan base.

Jennifer Cardini shares the seventh installment in Correspondant's annual V/A compilation series. Enlisting a wide array of label regulars and talented newcomers, the comprehensive body of work traverses the forward-facing sound aesthetic Correspondant has crafted to pinpoint perfection. Among those talented label newcomers is Rotterdam-based trio Yør Kultura. Next to releases on Multi Culti and Laut & Luise, the project cemented their status with a standout two-tracker for Munich-based power house Permanent Vacation, earlier this year.

Supplying the opening track for 'Compilation 07', Yør Kultura voyages into trademark territory. Titled 'Space Montage', the trio's contribution merges their contemporary take on tribalism, bright melodical arrangements and chugging bassline constructions into a climaxing 6-minute conclusion.

Mexico’s Duro label are set to release the first EP from local talent Undefined Pattern, backed with remixes from Damon Jee and Jenia Tarsol.

‘El Desespere’ comes after Undefined Pattern’s debut on the Disque Discos 'DISCORROR IX' compilation and is inspired by the stress and paranoia of living in Mexico. It features three intensely atmospheric tracks with remixes by Damon Jee and Jenia Tarsol.

The fantastic title track gets things under way on a rugged bassline and illuminating synths that speak of a busy urban metropolis. It’s a rumbling disco ride that really takes you somewhere. The dark and heavy disco vibes continue on ‘Estrex Humano’, with its crisp hits and urgent bassline. Edgy synth loops bring the tension and add plenty of drama before ‘Intenxa Salida’ offers a sparser and eerier track, with dystopian, searching synths and melodic details off in the distance that suggest human life amongst a late night urban landscape.

Frenchman, MORE associate and 90s veteran Damon Jee flips ‘Estrex Humano’ into a slow burning and steamy disco stomper with libidinous female vocals, courtesy of Ravintsara and broad synth sweeps. Lastly, ‘El Desespere’ as remixed by Blue Shadow Records boss Jenia Tarsol is a chugger with big rock licks and a filthy bassline.

This is a compelling EP from the fast rising Undefined Pattern and another great package from contemporary disco tastemakers Duro.

Tantum invites you to a breathtaking ecstasy on the new Monaberry 058. The mysterious growth called Bonsai EP also takes root directly with the first track "Into Yam" on the dancefloor and fills body and soul with energetic groove and flourish sounds.

 The original, created by Tantum, Samer Soltan & Oluhle, is also sent into a world of juicy breaks and sweaty expressions of love by label owners Super Flu in a detailed, powerful and club-oriented remix spaceship.

In a subtle 80ies colouring Dürerstuben are driving the track "Into Yam" with their realmix through the landscape and souped it up with vocoders and interlaced breaks, to whiz to the sunrise with piano chords and analog synths.

On the track "Bonsai" Tantum combines sharply lit synths, deep drums and filigree percussions with a soft groove that slowly but surely captivates all senses.
