Back2Basics was formed in September of 2015 by Dave Keset as place for the House Music fans to hear 4/4 music, and not the commercial edm and dubstep that for whatever reason...still dominates in Spokane. 
The goal was to put the spotlight back on the music and not the VIP tables/bottle service nonsense. 
Just good music played by good djs.

We've had guests like Dj Dan (LA), Donald Glaude (SD), Hatiras (Toronto), JedX (SF), Mike Balance (LA), Gabriel & Dresden (USA), Rescue (CO), Dancing Mandy (CA), Mena (PDX), Joel DeMarzo (LA), RedFive (LA), Tony H (SEA), LiquorBox (LA), Rose City Underground (PDX), and Street Kids (PDX) as well as all of Spokanes underground djs play for us.

I'm Eric Sheldon aka Four Four. 28 years old from Rancho Cucamonga,CA. Brought up playing in hardcore bands and writing music on guitar, I started getting into djing and production in 2005. I've played numerous house parties and clubs in the Los Angeles/inland empire including Control and a weekly residency at Club Dance at the Arena. Was signed to the label RotTen Musik in 2011 with a 3 song EP which hit beatport/juno and other electronic music mediums. My single 'Wigwam' was a hit and had many large acts such as Nadastrom, DJ Craze and others noticing. I was featured in MixMag in an article for a remix I did for the UK based band 'Delooze'. Since then, my style has drastically changed musically. I take musical influences within many genres. On one hand, I am mainly into electronica/acid house/techno and most electronic music the 90's contained musically. On the other hand, I love indie rock/nu wave and anything rugged or analogue sounding. Production wise, I take influences from nu wave/balearic/techno and new beat, a genre popularized by the whole Berlin electronic movement of dance music in the 90's. Producing and djing is my absolute passion in life. I've dedicated my life to music and the creation of it.

Biography:

In his zone from deep house to techno, Ben Annand pairs impeccably smooth mixing skills with a dynamic style that keeps the music moving, artfully playing with breakdowns and spending most of his time in the mix.

“For me, a great mix is the interplay of 2 unique pieces of music, creating something greater than the sum of the parts - and a great set weaves those mixes into a musical flow you can’t help but lose yourself in on the dance floor.”

Ben fell in love with dancing and rave culture in 1995, and learned to mix in 1996. Just 2 years later he became resident dj at the famed Moontribe Gathering, and started his own production company, Tropical. The first half of his career was mostly focused on DJing abroad, with 13 trips to Moscow’s Propaganda club, travel across Russia, Spain, and Mexico, an appearance at Wiggle at Fabric in London and two at the Labyrinth Festival in Japan.  

In more recent years, Ben Annand became a top West Coast festival DJ, and recently played a standout set at his 5th consecutive Lightning in a Bottle (CA). He has also appeared at Sunset Campout and Desert Hearts (CA), Oregon Eclipse (OR), Photosynthesis and Cascadia (WA), Shambhala and Motion Notion (BC, Canada).

As organizer of Tropical, he's donated over $32,000 to charity, hosted zero-waste events in Hawaii, and presented gender-balanced dj lineups.

Whatever his project,, Ben Annand is always contributing, and always thinking outside the box.

Liquid Giraffe has played alongside Alix Perez, Mala, LTJ Bukem, EPROM, Technimatic, Truth and more, while also opening for George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, and performing for the incarcerated at San Quentin Prison. A true artist, Kraig Tyler's passion for new sounds and fusions can be heard through decades of projects and platinum releases.

 
"I'm not like the avant-garde artist who is always concerned about being new and original," he said. "I have a lot of fun with cliches and archetypal musical elements, no matter where they come from, whether it's Rock-and-Roll or Jazz or a Beethoven String Quartet.
I mean, I'm not afraid to go back and use that material in a way that is somewhat unexpected and new. But my credo is not to be original in everything I do. I like dipping back and taking things we've heard before and putting them in a new set of clothes, or maybe placing them in a new room."

Steve Moshier is a composer and performer whose work encompasses theatre, dance, the concert stage, and the internet. From its inception in 1979 until its demise in 1991 he was co-founder, performer, and composer of over 30 compositions for the chamber music ensemble Cartesian Reunion Memorial Orchestra. In 1989 he was named honorary “Artistic Associate – Composer” at the Los Angeles Theater Center under the direction of producers Bill Bushnell and Diane White. Awards for music composition include the L.A. Weekly Theater Critics’ Award, the late Drama-Logue Awards and, having been nominated six times, the Lester Horton Dance Award in 1996. Besides composing award-winning music for productions at the Los Angeles Theater Center, Berkeley Repertory Theater, and the Laguna Playhouse, he has collaborated with performance artists John Fleck, Anna Homler, Keith Antar Mason and the Hittite Empire, as well as, choreographers Karen Goodman, Rudy Perez, Hae Kyung Lee, Winifred R. Harris and, most recently, Heidi Duckler . His work has been performed in international festivals that included the Soho Arts Festival in New York, the Belluard Bollwerk International (BBI) Festival in Fribourg, Switzerland, University of Mainz, Germany, Festspielhaus Hellerau, the Tanzwoche Festival in Dresden, Germany, and the ChangMu International Dance Festival.
