For release number 018, @oslated is pleased to welcome the Korean-American producer based in New York : Soramimi. 

A multi-talented artist who deploys her creativity in the electronic music sphere as much as a composer as a label manager. Indeed she manages the label "Dusk Note" with Cory James who remixed a track from her LP « The World Trembles In My Hands ».

A release composed of 7 tracks that immerses us well in her precise and meticulous work of composition. From the start we are carried away by the flow and the multiple rhythms, the pulsations shift and bring us into a different state supported by alluring layers of intricate and evolving sonic abstractions.
The tracks continue to follow each other and Soramimi continues to intertwine throbbing immersive techno with heady rhythms, like in the track « Oceanic Writhe », which clearly has the dynamics to push us to dance until the end of the night.

The sustained pulsation goes through our whole body, up to the track « Geomancer », where a diaphanous light emanates, inviting us to become aware of all these vibrations.

The atmosphere becomes brighter in the remix of Cory James which closes this release. Our eyes remain closed, our body in motion and our third eye open to radial lights.

Soramimi is a Korean-American electronic composer, producer, sound designer, live performer and co-owner of Dusk Notes record label based in New York.
Launched in 2011, her project focuses on music as narrative imagery, with a celestial sound illustrated by cerebral textures and rhythms, and deep hallucinatory compositions. She brings a distinct fluency and gravity to the table of nuanced experimental techno and ambient.

For its ninth release, Dusk Notes invites 3 guest artists, each gifted and stylistically distinctive in their own right, to reinterpret tracks from Imagery’s self-titled album. Wide-ranging and divergent in genre, the compilation closes out with a remix from the label founders.

Homemade Weapons’ striking take on “Asymmetric Information'' features his signature audio sculptures of precise and militant choppage. Viels’ intricate rework of “Don’t Crush the Acid” is marked by commanding breakbeats and ominous ambience. Fred P’s version of “Don’t Crush the Acid” embarks on a jazzy groove with musing and yearning melodies. Soramimi and Rondec take us inward at eventide with a hushed and intoxicating montage of “Inner Sunset.”

Bright Sounds welcomes prolific Dutch artist Boris Bunnik for a new EP under his most celebrated alias, Conforce. The regular Delsin artist saves this project for his more dance floor driven work and that is the case across all four of the atmospheric tracks here. 

‘Virtue Signalling’ is slick techno that mixes up sci-fi sounds with cavernous dub pads. It’s cerebral and cinematic as well as being driven by the rubbery drums. ‘Black Mesa’ is darker, with a meaning synth line coming in spurts over punchy, broken drums. It’s grand in architecture but still has plenty of rich sonic details. On the flipside, ‘Compulsion’ is more watery, with little life forms suspended in a backlit ocean above slippery drums, where ‘Alka’ is another underwater affair, with beams of light penetrating from above as a dubbed out groove undulates way down deep. Once again then here, Conforce marries form with function in exquisite ways.

Soramimi’s track ‘Solar Flush’ expertly takes you through a sea of lush textural pads and asynchronous tumbling bass, all along ripples of colored noise for a truly captivating sonic experience. This is accompanied by a feedback-driven solar sketch by otodojo, inspired by a looping noise tutorial from polyhop.
