Dust Down Records invites AJ aka Ethan Morgan. Previous sets have seen him play at Riders Club for Laax Open & the X-Games, as well as frequenting Innsbruck regularly where he lives.

When he's not DJing, he's (probably) snowboarding & working on his street snowboarding event, DIYX Strt Jam, which has taken Innsbruck by storm the last couple of years, with a Helsinki edition coming in March 2023.

For this 90mins mix, he seamlessly meanders through soulful disco, hard funk, hip hop & other unexpected ear nuggets.

Dust Down Records invites New Digital Fidelity, who has delivered an hour of fluid dance music very much for the purists, ranging from Chicago & Detroit sounds to Afro & jackin' rhythms. 

Founder of @scopicrecorduk, this producer & DJ based out of East London is one to watch. His latest release has seen him team up with @officialbyrontheaquarius on remix duties and his sound is revealing of his inspirations - G-Funk to Chicago, Dam Funk to Chez Damier - this is one hour very well spent. 🚀

Their roots are firmly in collecting and mixing wonky records on belt drive turntables, with this joint project celebrating & sharing their collective love for house, funk, soul, disco and any oddity they come across in-between.

Dust Down Records invites Arnie Wrong, with an hour mixtape in ode to love & heartbreak. A collection of stories about unrequited love, infidelity, desperation and loss of connection. The essence of heartbreak told through a soundtrack of proto-house, boogie, funk and italo. This hour gives a small glimpse into some of Arnie Wrong's record bag essentials.

A London based DJ & music producer, she grew up in a multicultural family between Sweden & Poland, discovering at an early age that music is a universal language connecting people beyond borders. 

You can catch her playing monthly on @loosefm & Voices Radio and she's had a track released recently with @thediscoexpress.

Just For The Night #7 - Arnie Wrong

For the eighth installment in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

Dust Down Records invites Lenny Fontana, a true New York legend who has graciously delivered an hour-long disco mixtape. An hour going back to his roots, you might say.

A New Yorker's New Yorker, inspired by Larry Levan, Fontana played at Studio 54 in the late 80s and various other NYC Clubs. His discography spans over 140 records with his tracks seeing remixes by David Morales & support from Louie Vega to say the least. He founded Karmic Power Records in 2013 which he's still running to this day.

We've admired him ever since hearing the 1999 release Spread Love (Lenny Fontana Presents Black Sun) on Estereo. Sometimes it pays to email your heroes, take some moonshots, as you just never know: one might just graciously deliver a mix for your series :)

For the ninth installment in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

Dust Down Records invites Javi Frias, a madrileño disco afficionado & firm favourite of ours. He began collecting and playing records as a young ‘soul boy' at the end of the nineties in his hometown Madrid & you can find his edits & reworks on labels like Street Edits, Tropical Disco Records & Midnight Riot.

In 2017 he started his own label Night Shift Records, devoted to edits and reworks of disco and house. He's part of the mysterious Disco Pocho label too, focused on the soul and funk side of the disco edit.

He's also resident DJ & booker of Discotizer, one of the finest disco, boogie and house parties in Spain (currently at El Sotano), where he has shared the decks with names like Louie Vega, Dave Lee, Danny Krivit, Rahaan, Eddie C, Faze Action, Mr. Mendel, & more.

For the tenth installment in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

This guest mix requires very little by way of introduction. The Chicago house originator, Chez Damier, is akin to underground royalty & someone we've admired since day zero.

He's devoted his life to dance music. After starting out in Chicago, he set up now-fabled Detroit nightclub the Music Institute with Derrick May and Alton Miller, as well as helping countless producers get a start in the game. His own frankly-insane discography, and his work with Ron Trent, is the heart & soul of a true golden era of house.

One of his latest excursions sees Chez team up with @AdeenRecords label head Camille on Make Up The Edits 3, compiling 8 disco heaters with Italian talent @Nico-Lahs on editing & mixing duties - highly recommended!

This mix is a segment of a live recording Chez did in Oslo & he kindly shared it our way for our 10th in the series. Roll on 100...

For the 11th installment in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

Etched into the history of Italian House is one Carlo Troja, aka Don Carlos. In 1991 @IrmaRecords released his first single Alone, which almost immediately gained cult status. The soft, ambient, dream-like production defined a genre that came to be known as Paradise House. 

One of his more recent excursions that piqued our interest was a four-track EP on @razor-n-tape under artist name Montego Bay, all melodic house jams & sampled disco cuts. Don Carlos and S-Tone (Stefano Tirone @stoneinc) released two records on Bologna label Calypso in the early 90s and incredibly, the 4 tracks on this EP were produced 30 years ago, then shelved and forgotten about.

A true music obsessive, he has graciously delivered an hour of lush Mediterranean & Adriatic-soaked groovers from his extensive record collection. Benvenuti in paradiso. 🌴

Enter, one of Motor City's hidden gems. Keyboardist, composer & selector Jade Zuberi aka Jay Sound caught our ears & we just had to invite him onto the series. An incredibly diverse musician who can shift between New Age, Deep House, Funk, Jazz & more, his sound has a constant deep retro atmosphere at its foundation coupled with 80s synths, complex polyrhythmic bass lines, dream like chords & retro drum machines.

Fuelling his artistry are wide-ranging inspirations from Theo Parrish, Larry Heard, Ron Trent, Benedek, Bonodo & Trinidadian Deep to Herbie Hancock, Prince, Sade, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Robert Glasper, Dam-Funk, George Duke, Hans Zimmer, John Carpenter & so much more.

We're heading to Amsterdam with Wendel Sield. His Entity EP, released on his own label Obia Records, piqued our interest a few years ago, with its insanely lush percussion & masterful layering, and safe to say we've been following his output keenly since.

OBIA003 saw @trinidadiandeep & the Sonic Movement EP on Obia Records, guided by the Caribbean producer who delves deep into the spirit of the cosmos with a highly percussive & spacious chords filled EP.

Wendel grew up in a family that loved music, surrounded by jazz, soul and funk from an early age. We're stoked he's pulled through with a decidedly deep mix. 🚀

Time for no. 18 in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

This week we're heading to Salvador with musician, DJ & producer Alexandre Processo aka Processman. His universal sound, traversing grooves from disco, funk, house and Brazilian music, caught our ears on the recent Adupé EP on @fileunderdisco, two original tracks with Cady on vocals and remixes by @Jkriv, @Joutro-Mundo and @Dicky-Trisco. Going back a bit further, we loved his track Do Beijo, a collab with @Yuksek, later featured on the French producer's album Nosso Ritmo. He's also got a recent release Baba Oni on label @Mareh Music & runs Bahia Boogie. Time to free the groove 🇧🇷

Questa settimana andiamo in Italia con G&D aka Gino Grasso @ginofunkgrasso & Dino Angioletti @dinoangioletti 🇮🇹 

Long time collectors, DJ's and producers, Gino and Dino initially made their mark on the scene with a residency at Kinki club in Bologna, helping to raise the profile of Italian house with a very personal interpretation of electronic music, full of Detroit influences & a deep-rooted sense of groove 🚀 

Gino started buying records at 11 years old in the late 70s when his uncle was working at an independent radio station & soon fell in love with disco and boogie seeking out obscure gems off the radar of collectors at the time. He was part of the amazing Italian DJ crew Garage Paradise, alongside the like of Enrico Crivellaro aka Volcov, Luca Trevisi and other ragazzi. His compilation “We Know How To Boogie” for BBE Records @bbemusic contains some insanely dope disco & boogie jams worth checking out. 

Since 1994 Dino's been a member of the Pasta Boys crew @pastaboysxx – with Uovo and Deejay Rame – with whom he's collaborated with the likes of @Osunlade & Masters At Work @masters-at-work-official

Expect groovy records, enchanting disco, serious funk, stunning reworks of old school tunes, obscure gems, classics and pure love for the warmest music ever. Eternally grateful that two legends in the game have come through with an hour of soulful sounds to get you in the mood for the weekend. Grazie mille fratelli 🙏

For this week's guest mix we're heading to Holland with Amsterdam-based, born & raised DJ & producer Jannis Jansen aka Aurelius 🇳🇱 

House music is his bread & butter you might say, with a lovely recent release 'Sangue' on @LocalTalk, and you can find him frequenting dance spots around Amsterdam like Lovelee. Suitably, he's delivered a super on-point, dance-oriented mix full of serious house sounds 🚀
