Mary Anne Hobbs was such an incredible influence. Her clear passion for the music on her show was infectious.

That's exactly what happened to me when I saw Philippa for the first time :)

Yeah longer 4+h sets add minimum two dimensions of depth... the ability to go up and down in intensity and also in vibe - simply impossible in a 1,5h set where you need to get into it for the first 30min minimum - shorter sets like 1h are more like a showcase of one direction - but on the other hand a short set can also be difficult it's like shortening a track as a producer isn't it... but it's different than a 4h+ set

Championing a dancefloor sound as ebulliently driving as it invites us to dip our toes into further hazy sonic grounds, Dutch producer, Rhiza Semar founder and Eerste Communie resident Hitam swings the pendulum betwixt racing 909-fuelled horsepower and more subdued, fearsome climates.

By combining organic and artificial sound sources with ancient and modern approaches to patterns and structure, he sees his productions as a means to reconnect the past and present; guiding the listener through aural fields that are both familiar and unknown.
As ever clinical in his approach and deadly in his execution, Hitam has us tripping out to relentless tech rage and hypnotic sound design laced into one smoldering hodgepodge of whelming, non-stop gusty sonics.

The dynamic and ethereal characteristics of his sound invoke a state of contemplation and receptiveness, by means of which one is invited to form a deeper connection within and between. Mind and body; self and other.

Gradient 002 - Takeoff

While Gradient 001 was about setting the tone — stillness, tension, the quiet before movement.
Gradient 002 picks up right where we left off, at 125 BPM, and gradually builds toward 130bpm.

This mix is an invitation to the dancefloor.
Elegant and deep, its grooves are warm and textured.
Hints of dub, traces of house — but the structure remains techno.
It evokes the early hours: controlled momentum, subtle tension, and poise.
