Christopher Joseph (https://soundcloud.com/christopher-joseph) is back on his Flexxseal label with four enthralling tracks entitled ‘Eye in the Sky’.
Christopher Joseph is an emerging talent from from Massachusetts who now resides in Berlin. Christopher’s productions encapsulate his vast musical background which includes studying Jazz percussion and living in the vibrant musical hubs of New Orleans and Berlin. ‘Eye in the Sky’ sees Christopher return to his invigorating Flexxseal imprint following releases from himself and Philadelphia’s DJ Richard which together garnered heavy support from the likes of Ben UFO, Call Super, A Made Up Sound, I-F and many more.
‘Eye in the Sky’ kicks off proceedings with ethereal leads floating underneath electro-fuelled percussion and swirling synths together sending the emotions skyward while vigorously, resonant drums fused with rave- induced modulations and twisted melodies lay the focus in ‘Lick The Honey’.
On the flip, ‘Nothing69’ delivers growling resonations, breaks-tinged drums and otherworldly arpeggios that keep you enticed throughout until ‘Leaving Ringworld’ rounds things off with a vintage, warehouse techno track featuring an effervescent, rolling groove sequence, spiralling oscillations and industrial feels throughout.

In 2020 Dalmata Daniel continues the electro space travel with Krypton81. The Danish scientist duo intended to create 'Tranquility Base' in outer space with this EP. The Inspiration came from Technology & Occultism which ended up in a dark, melodic sound.

LAU, our local astronaut also joined this scientific adventure with her breakbeat energy and made their spaceship launch with the speed of light.

The physical form of the EP is a Studio Jetski designed riso print limited to 12 copies which is available only for pre-orders.

When Utrecht based acid/techno outfit @Random-XS resumed activity after many years of hibernation, their archive turned out to be full of unreleased recordings. After releasing some of it on labels like Shipwrec, Delsin and M.O.S., it’s now Discos Atónicos (@Alienata) who unearthed some more hidden gems.

The A-side of the EP ‘Reverse Deception’ features two intense Electro/Acid-style Random XS tracks, recorded in the late 1990s. Although it was still in the early days of the internet, inspiration came from the dark and invisible side of the online world: hacking, cybercrime and cyberwarfare. The track titles ’Titan Rain and ‘Stuxnet Code’ are a reflection of this.

“Mirror Glaze Lavish” is Marc’s latest effort in trying to depict his cynical and disillusioned view of the present-day music scene, seen through a sonic magnifier that emphasizes its greatest controversies, by juxtaposing different electronic languages as a challenge to the current levelling artistic trends. The artist personality is nullified, standardized to a state of placid non-critical thinking. Everyday’s emptiness emerges as the structure of reality and only the cracks in it still lead to life. “Great souls suffer in silence”, once said Friedrich Schiller, but what if silence becomes an audible, danceable image? As if all these electro cuts, differently permeated with a balanced mix of playful darkness, were populated by eerie animals that cannot find peace with their habitat and keep dancing relentlessly until the very end of their miserable existence. Seen in this context, each of Marc’s tracks must be interpreted as an irreverent and poignant act of self-assertion vis-à-vis his contemporaries. Morah’s reinterpretation of “Celexxa” adds value to the original track, taking us for a dirty ride on a psycho-electro-charged rollercoaster."

Isolated Material is a 25 year old French producer who now lives in Berlin. In his debut EP « Aliased », he explores different atmospheres in the field of electro.
The EP starts with « Control Your Mind », a cold and dystopian track that sets the tone.
"Programmatic" follows with heavy, playful and glitchy rhythms before moving on to « Dotted », which highlights the bass influences of the producer.
Next comes the acid glitch groove « Ritual », followed by « Root Cause » which explores the funkier side of electro.
« Spinning » ends things up with heavily distorted drums and hypnotic arps.

TL Premiere : Isolated Material - Spinning [Ukonx Recordings]

Cultivated Electronics’ limited vinyl offshoot, CE Ltd is coming with a V/A EP entitled ‘Onderwereld’ which takes its name from a former atomic bunker based in The Hague that housed music studios, offices and the Intergalactic FM station, Onderwereld Radio. 

The building had to be vacated last year, but the amalgamation of some of those artists and their creative resources lives on. Together, they encapsulate the new underground sound of The Hague. 

Keeping the Onderwereld collaborative ethos alive, 543ff joins forces with Star-kid(Bunker Records) and Gamma Intel (Brokntoys / Pinkman) for ‘Three City Firm’. Their original version is dark and bristling, while 543ff’s remix takes the track on a galactic ride.
