Not so long ago, we were already in the mother city of breakbeat. Namely in the legendary and enchanting British city of London. But it has so much more to offer. Fancy a round of minimal, techno and house in after-hours garb? Then you've come to the right place today. The enchanting DJ OrKatz has brought us a very fine recording of the Fox&Badge event from Studio 338. Alltime favs included. I only say Nathan Fake....

~~INTERVIEW~~

✔️ What are your musical Influences?
My influences draw from a rich and diverse palette. I was originally shaped by the vibrant clubbing scene in Paris between 2004 and 2008, where techno, minimal, electro, house, and tech house defined my early experiences. Artists like Richie Hawtin, Stephan Bodzin, and Legowelt were some of my biggest inspirations during this formative time.
Today, I craft down-pitched journeys that weave together downtempo, darktempo, psy techno, minimal, house, and techno.

In my pharmacopeia of sounds, you’ll also find echoes of jazz and hip-hop influences, enriching the emotional depth and texture of my sets.

✔️ What makes a good Afterhour?
A good afterhour is a moment suspended in time, a transition between the intensity of the night and the stillness of the morning. It’s about creating a space where people can let go, connect deeply with the music, and feel truly present.

✔️ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?
This musical journey is dedicated to a special humpback whale named Sweet Girl. Recently, she offered an extraordinary encounter to Rachel Moore, who captured an incredible photograph of her eye, an image that touched thousands of hearts worldwide. Tragically, just a week later, Sweet Girl was fatally struck by a ferry. Her story inspired me to create this set as a tribute to her and all whales who’ve suffered similar fates. Through this music, I hope to share a powerful message of love and advocacy for whale protection.

✔️ Thoughts about the Set and Club:I loved every beat of my set which was a complete healing journey to me! After 4 pretty challenging weeks, I was so happy to be back in my element, sharing tunes I love and expressing myself, taking everyone, myself included, into a personal journey. Playing a 120 BPM felt also like a nice cruise tempo. The energy on the dance floor was everything! Everyone on the dancefloor was so engaged and expressive! This gave me a sense of deep connection with everybody, which is one of my favorite feelings in the world! I was very thankful for people’s energy and for showing me I’m exactly where I belong when I'm behind the decks playing music. During my set, I included some tracks that left a big impact on me such as Emerge by Fischerspooner or The Sky Was Pink (Holden Remix) by Nathan Fake. Dropping them felt like completing a circle, by giving back what those tracks gave me: this blissful feeling of oneness, infinite gratitude, of falling in love with life.
