Kathleen Shevenell's newest original single, "Veterans Day"?!  

A preview of Kathleen's upcoming original holiday-themed album, "Veterans Day" is Kathleen's ode to her valiant uncle Rick, who served in the U.S. army as a medic before transitioning to a role in the Pentagon (an important detail in another song on the album!).  Featuring a little swing and a little grunge, Kathleen's latest effort - on which she sang and played bass - serves as a reminder to thank those who have served our country while in harm's way.

I wrote this song with Andreas Aronsson shortly after we got back from out trip to NYC. We come up with the chord arrangement that best match my vocal range  then we started recording but were not happy with it so a put the project aside for 4 years and in Aug of 2017 I was at the watch this film fest for program and Katy Parks and I where talking about all the songs I had Written that are Travel Releated and She the one who gave me the idea to do Travel EP Album. So I wrote Down all my Travel Related songs Including this one and Then I went to Listen Up that next Monday and told Eric Schwan My idea I had and he loved it. So I talked Andreas about my New York Song and asked him if i could have it for Listen Up Music Travel Ep and he said Yes. so he Found the song on his computer at home and sent me a practice mix then we went in for about a month in Sept into our recording studio at bomb diggity arts and he helped me finish Recording The song now It the Third Song on my Travel EP.

Ellen is one of Listen Up's most multi-talented instrumentalists, so for this cover of the Bee Gee's 1968 single "Words," it should come as no surprise that she plays nearly every single part! Not only does she sing lead and backing vocals, Ellen also plays the drums and the piano, while adding melodic licks on the synth strings and synth guitar. Colin added a bass guitar line and helped with recording and mixing the track, with mastering added by Jon. Always humble, here's what Ellen has to say about her newest track:

"The Bee Gees are one of my favorite artists to listen to, and I like the way this song sounded. I mostly did this song myself, but I did have a little extra help. Hope you all enjoy!"
