XUJA is the artistic evolution of Jordan Deck, a DJ who spent over a decade immersed in the house music scene under his own name. Known for his refined taste and deep connection to the dancefloor, Jordan launched XUJA as a way to explore global electronic music—infused with traditional rhythms and cultural textures. This sound was shaped in part by Mahico, a world music and cultural festival he co-founded in Australia’s Northern Rivers, where he has supported and toured international artists such as Martha Van Straaten, Chancha Via Circuito, Rodrigo Gallardo, Hermanos Gutierrez, Barrio Lindo, Kusht, and Maugli.

Now performing exclusively as XUJA, he bridges the worlds of soulful, Chicago- and Detroit-inspired house with globally influenced electronic sounds. Sometimes they merge; other times, they stand distinct—each set shaped by the energy of the moment.

Based in Byron Bay, XUJA is also the Music Director of Paradiso Music Room, where he curates a diverse and forward-thinking musical program, spotlighting underground sounds and globally-minded selectors in an intimate club setting. Through Paradiso, he has hosted and supported influential artists such as Moodymann, Marcellus Pittman, Chez Damier, Craig Richards, Alton Miller, and Sound Metaphors.

As Elvis Costello once said, “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” The best way to understand XUJA’s sound is to experience it live.
