If you like your techno bruised and bleeding, you’d have taken note of Manchester’s AnD. Over the last few years they’ve been making their presence known with a series of unbridled releases for labels like Horizontal Ground, Black Sun Records, Repitch Recordings and their own self-titled stable. “Harder” has indeed been the duo’s mantra, bellowed stony-faced from the rasping recedes of industrial’s brittle outer rim. But it hasn’t always been this way. Before the broken bones and caustic, pitch-black tear-outs there’s been deep and dubby reprieves, techy dubstep and even washed-out drum and bass on the likes of Idle Hands, Project Squared and Hidden Hawaii all with equaled astuteness.

It’s clear there’s little out of AnD’s reach, and they’re certainly not bowing down to anyone. ‘Kundalini’ then, AnD’s debut EP for Electric Deluxe, is not something to be taken lightly. The EP opens with a trio of patented AnD-style monsters, cataclysmic techno siblings all venomous and rusted through. It’s a dark and unforgiving trail with these guys as drill sergeant, until “ICDBYC” that is. Not quite the calm before the storm, here we have AnD pull back from the bloody onslaught to turn a cleaner, more calculated sort of weapon. Cool and tactical shadow skulking, trimmed with IDM. This one is just as deadly!

With the sound of Drumcode’s 15 Year anniversary still ringing in the ears of those who attended one of the labels special tour events or bought the commemorative compilation, Adam Beyer’s seminal Techno label dusts down the bunting and rolls out the party banners once again this month to celebrate the labels landmark 100th release. With such longevity being a mark of the consistency that has come to define Drumcode’s output over the years, it is highly appropriate that this milestone occasion be marked by releasing two new Adam Beyer tracks, The Color Out Of Space and Lovecraft, a collaboration with Ida Engberg, that follows up her Blue Yonder EP from September 2011

Just as with the label’s first release sixteen years ago, Adam Beyer positions himself at the controls, unleashing the shimmering ‘The Color Out Of Space’ with its euphoric melody riding on the back of nagging chords and booming kick. A product of Beyer’s studio collaboration with Ida Engberg, ‘Lovecraft’ takes its place on the b-side, cutting a trippy journey through distinctive chord patterns and undulating melodies that bounce around in the mix, underpinned by a heads-down groove.

After the success of the first A-sides compilation in 2012, Adam Beyer has decided its time to release another. With Adam’s stature steadily growing as one of the leading talents in the Techno scene and the rise of Drumcode, the standard of demo’s that have been sent to Adam have been top notch. Adam has now decided to release two compilations with 10 tracks each, consisting of tracks that Adam has tried and tested. There are also new artists that have been invited to release on Drumcode for this compilation and others who are a staple in Drumcode’s core family. Combining both old and new talents Drumcode have come up with something unique and distinctive to make this two-part compilation something extra special.

DEAD CERT. Records is a label linked to the well known website deathtechno.com ran by Jack! Who? in the UK. A diverse palette has seen their previous releases feature music from artists including Audio Injection / Truncate, Hans Bouffmyhre, Joachim Spieth, Miss Sunshine, DJ Spider and Eomac to name but a few. 

Aleksandar Grum also known as Redial Tone returns with an EP featuring new original works on "Hope & Despair" after a well received track called "22:22" last year. The leading Montenegro DJ and Producer is on the rise with a string of releases on Re:Axis' Monocline, Coeter's Kaputt, Subsist and Authentic Pew amongst others. Having shared the booth with people such as Jeff Mills, Chris Liebing, Lewis Fautzi and Miss Sunshine he is one to keep a close eye on. 

Also featuring on remix duty are UK based Paul Mac and Soolee from South Korea. 

Paul is widely considered a legend of the UK scene, having chalked up more than 20 years in the music industry. Spearheading label projects such as Stimulus and C-Side, he has also released music on the likes of James Ruskin's Blueprint, Oscar Mulero's Warm Up and Heiko Laux's Kanzleramt. 

Seoul is the home of Soolee, the head of More Than Less Records and curator of the renowned Less N Less podcast. With a production catalogue that includes Alex Bau's Credo, Submerge's Impact Mechanics and Joton's Newrhythmic, his sound is highly regarded and respected. 

"Hope" is the first offering, an infectious stripped back groove, sets it off to the races. A vocal hook joins in, growls and murmurs provide more depth, all the while remaining crunchy and textured. 

The first remix from Paul Mac opts for a completely new and energetic jam. A rolling and morphing synth adds some colour to a tough and jacking beat. This quirky rework takes you on a ride with a unique twist. 

Soolee dives in with a powerful groove, driving its way through hypnotic elements and spaced out sounds. Quite the contrast to the original version, this serious bruiser means business and is sure to destroy dancefloors the world over. 

"Despair" is a somewhat experimental, yet functional floor worker. The drum rhythms and abstract delays create a sense of tension before waves of hi-hats and cymbals crash into the mix. Eerie bleeps add an ethereal edge to this creative Techno piece that will stand out in any DJ set.

The next delivery by @OFF-Recordings is fast approaching and marks their 135th release, which is a revered achievement by any standard.

Label boss @Andre-Crom calls this one The Existence EP with two original works and a blitzing remix in tow too.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the remix by none other than @OliverDeutschmann, who is due a DTMIX in the coming months. He takes it up a notch with a speedy BPM providing an instant energy, that is then balanced with a gothic atmosphere of hypnotic, circular drone sounds. Sputtering hats and an undeniable rolling groove mean there is some real fire power waiting to be unleashed on this one.

Belgium based by way of Spain, comes @Dany-Rodriguez with his new album titled Galaxies Compared. A magical collection of interesting creations, from intricate soundscapes to deep and throbbing machine-licked Techno. A truly great arrangement of hypnotic ebbs and flows, exploring new creative ideas with each render.

Released on his own imprint RMR (@RodriguezMusicRecordings) his pedigree is apparent by being remixed by the likes of James Ruskin, The Advent, Tom Hades and Mark Broom amongst others, featuring on Marco Bailey’s MB Elektronics also.

We selected the last of the vinyl tracks, called “Pluton” for this DT:Premiere as its rolling, looping and spaced out style instantly caught our attention. The engaging sonics and lushess tones are a fine example of why you should check out this album in its entirety and that we can’t recommend enough to those who like the sweet taste of brain food.

A couple of months after the release of Contemporary Spaces, four of Abstract Division’s tracks get remixed. And who better suited for the job than label residents Stefan Vincent and Deepbass & Ness, and Dynamic Reflection debutants Tensal and Lewis Fautzi. 

Tensal has reshaped The Hunt into a powerful club-banger. The original synth is still present, although heavily processed by a number of echoes and reverbs. That, backed up by numerous noises going on in the background, makes it a Hunting piece of music indeed.  

Deepbass and Ness have taken Passenger for their account and transformed it into something of their own, inimitable sound. Deep and subby kicks, complemented with complex soundscapes.  

Lewis Fautzi’s version of Encounter is clearly deeper than the original. The impellent synth and matching percussion, make it a fascinating trip to listen to.

Stefan Vincent has formed Glide the original EP’s soundscape intro into a beautiful piece of breakbeat-techno. And with that, he has provided the perfect outro for this remix-EP. 

For all the WAV and MP3 heads, there’s a digital bonus version of The Hunt included as well. This one is provided by Dutch youngster Haeken, who turned it  into a hypnotic loop with an authentic old school feel to it.
