Art piece: Mechan 9 

Mechan 9 is the newest creation from Tyler FuQua Creations.  It is a giant fallen metal robot that is half-buried in the ground.  Over thirty five feet in diameter and six feet tall at his heart chamber, Mechan 9 is shrouded in mystery!  Decode the strange text on his body to reveal the secrets of not only his past, but of the universe as well.  Mechan 9 was built by an amazing crew and with the help of a Burning Man art grant in 2016 where it made its debut.

Born out of the legendary Hive Club in Zurich, Animal Trainer are a production team in full bloom. Over the last few years, the dynamic duo of Adrian Wölhaff & Samuel Gmür have amassed an array of releases on an impressive list of labels including the likes of Stil Vor Talent, Poker Flat, Monaberry and Yoshitoshi. In short, its a mighty fine resumé. Whichever way you slice it.

And now they return to Selador with a two tracker of quality and distinction. Lead track Amaron lays down its club credentials from the off, bobbing and weaving through a precise arrangement that will win hearts and move feet in equal measures.

The Danish duo Baime and Berlin label chief Einmusik also weigh in with two equally measured approaches that pull no punches and kick proverbial plus the added bonus of Atamaran adds the icing on the cake, the final layer to beautifully balanced package.

We are turning the page of our next edition of 'Terra Incognita', the third edition full of different and diverse paths it can lead the listeners to. Starting we reveal Habischman - the experienced Iranian producer, releasing his music via top notch labels as Noir Music, Dubfire's SCI+TEC and Get Physical. 'Aperture' comes as a great opener, conjuncted as a delicate blend of vintage dub-chords, elegant vocals and dramatic, hypnotic synths. Italian producer Stephan Jolk, who is putting out his music lately with Hommage and Beatfreak Recordings, can definitely make the synthesizers breathe. His 'Overdub' is a perfect combination of the minimalistic approach to the world of melodies: the pulsing melodic themes are wisely placed into sharply produced strained beat, which are coming together as a great tune as a result. US based artist Enamour has shown himself as a very promising artist, working with the labels as Yoshitoshi and Anjunadeep, so the stated words of Enamour to be a 'a curator of dark, infectious grooves and wistful atmospheres' is perfectly describing this talented producer at his best. 'Pet Paradox' is a firm thing, lying somewhere between genres and far ahead trends. Argentinian Tomy Wahl delivers his stomper 'Matka' next on the line: a powerful bass shaped track with a dramatic piano breakdown and glitchy proper drums. We close a pack with 'Hong Kong Harbour' track from Netherlands based producer Tom Zeta (Diynamic, Einmusika, KATERMUKKE). This work, mainly exposing with the main detuned synth sound, is finishing the exploration of another Terra Incognita, which became known to you now. Fabian Wegmeth - Play With Me [Artaphine Premiere]

Nicola Virnicchi is a disc jockey and producer born in Southern Italy in 1981. At the age of 13 he started to play his music in different small clubs in Campania until his debut in the most exclusive one; "The East Side”. Because of his unique underground style he became a resident DJ at the Alibi and soon after at the Qube in Rome.

In recent years he played on many consoles on the Adriatic coast (Prince of Riccione, in collaboration with Pacha Ibiza), in Salento (Parco Gondar) and finally he joined one of the most important international electronic festivals in South of Italy, known as
FLUSSI with his music.

In 2011 he co-founded the Party Label Dislike in Italy’s underground club scene where he collaborated with many international DJ’s.
In 2013 he created the live techno project Subion with Pier Giuseppe Mariconda and released Eliogabalo, a vinyl labeled by BLACKWATER, which quickly got resonance and success in the techno environment.

After a creative break with a lot of traveling, music research and festivals I’m back with new inspiration and creativity to provide you straight, uncompressing Techno music.

Ya sea con sus regulares apariciones en eventos insignia de la ciudad como Unter, The Black Hole y The Bunker, o en clubes como Elsewhere, The Good Room y Basement, donde tiene una residencia con su evento Dominion, Auspex ha llevado constantemente a estos lugares su sonido de techno e industrial acelerado y vertiginoso. Con esta intensa sesión de 140-150 BPM, busca proveer el tipo de catarsis que muchos están anhelando al estar aislados por todo este tiempo.

Uto Karem kick starts 2021 with a new EP on his label @agile-recordings that’s been made in collaboration with Gaston Zani who recently charted No.1 on Beatport.

Gaston Zani and Uto Karem recently joined forces for tracks released by Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave and UMEK’s 1605. Following the success of those releases, the guys are back with a two-track EP made in their usual style of peak-time techno.

One of the people who pioneered techno in the Neapolitan region of Italy, Uto Karem has been releasing music for over two decades including releases on iconic labels such as Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 ranging through to others such as Dubfire's SCI+TEC.

Continuing to rise through the ranks, Gaston Zani is one of the most exciting artists out there right now, and this is backed up by releases on labels such as Eats Everything’s EI8HT, Sian’s Octopus, and Carl Cox’s Intec.

Each of the tracks blends a dark atmosphere with industrial textures to create hypnotic techno perfect for peak-time plays.

“Pisces” opens the release with its raw kick drum and thrashing off-beat percussion before introducing acid stabs and muffled vocals. Raising the intensity, the tracks lift up a gear with its fluttering bursts of arpeggio before the Detroit influenced stabs deliver the knock out blow for an explosive finish.

“Kontrol” builds with swelling tension as the rolling snares and fast-flowing synth line create a high-velocity groove. Frantic and unrelenting, its enthralling momentum is like a tidal wave of surging energy that’s set to engulf the dance floor.
