It’s time for already the 55th release on The Nursery and the second release of the new year with two new artists: P&S.

P&S is a duo hailing from the Southside of France. Better know under their solo projects Porteix and Shaney. They are no strangers to the scene, their style can be described as immersive mind-bending techno which is exactly how we like it. They’ve just decided to collaborate on this release for the first time under their new moniker P&S and we’re very excited about it to share this with you. The EP consists of 5 proper club bangers which most certainly will do some damage on the floor. We can’t wait to hear what the future of P&S brings.

Chilean producer Massiande returns with another record on Phonica’s family of labels, with his new ‘Through The Walls’ EP landing on the deep house focused Karakul imprint this time round.

Since his well received ‘Freedom EP’ on Phonica White, Massiande has had a string of strong releases on Freerange, No Fuss and Midnight Riot, adding to an already formidable back-catalogue including 12”s for Housewax and MOS.

‘Through The Walls’ may be his most accomplished project to date, with the level of production at a particular high, ranging from the crisp, punchy title track to the submerged dub techno of ‘Dub At The Beach’ and on to the melodic beauty of ‘I Remember When I First Met You’. He rounds the 12” off with ‘New Life’, another new classic sounding like a rediscovered anthem from yesteryear. We can see this 12” lingering in record bags for quite some time!

Karakul, Phonica's sub-label for deeper House music, kicks off 2022 with an EP from renowned Chilean artist Massiande called Through the Walls. The DJ and producer, who's already released on the Record store's Phonica White imprint back in 2017, delivers a four tracker that is as rich as it is classy in terms of sounds staying true to his lush bass lines making each track not only club-compatible but one of these forever-in-your-record-bag records. The B2, New Life, definitely and most certainly rounds this package off and may be yet the strongest club-tune of Through the Walls. Infatuating almost bewitching chords support the mental experience dancers, club-goers or headphone-listeners witness throughout the 5:46 minutes and as soon as the spare vocal-snippets set in in the last third of the track, they know it's all over with them - entering the new life, their new life.

Massiande's EP Through the Walls will be released on Karakul on February 4th, 2022.

Press Release:
Artur Szatkowski - the person behind the moniker - is an up and coming techno producer, but not a newbie to the scene overall. Going by Essence for over 20 years, he was a DJ and a promoter, responsible for hundreds of parties all over Poland. When he took some time off from party life back in 2018, he started learning production skills and currently he is focused on his own music, heavily inspired by his lifelong musical influences. Having released his first EP in late 2021 on International Day Off, Artur is now making his way back - releasing and performing as We Call It Voight-Kampff. We Call It Voight-Kampff’s music was picked up by quite a few techno artists in their DJ sets - including Ben Sims (who also released a collaboration track between We Call It Voight-Kampff and Szmer on the latter’s EP on Symbolism), Dave Clarke, Rodhad, Kr!z, Doc Scott and Freddy K.

As a sign of solidarity, and an attempt to bring a shimmer of light into the current dark times, Monument has gathered a selection of tracks for a VA compilation. All profits from the release will go to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s fundraising campaign for the people of Ukraine, who need help now.

The diverse musical contributions were created by artists in over ten different countries - spanning from Scotland to Georgia, and Finland to Spain - reflecting the uniting power music can have beyond borders. The release’s sound palette ranges from introspective ambient pieces to dark and broken beats as well as more hopeful timbres.

Guiseppe Tillieci, Gianluca Meloni and Iacopo Sposaro from Enisslab studio have been so generous to offer the mastering for all the tracks. We wish to deeply thank both them and each of the contributing artists for lending their creative energy to this collaborative gesture for peace.
