returns.
Movements EP contains 3 fierce new tracks. Mechanical rhythms, 

whip-crack electronic riffs, insistent robot vocals: Ctrls proved to 

master these sounds very well on his past EP’s and he only seems to 

perfect his skills on this 4th instalment.

Patrick Topping returns to Hot Creations with his 'Taking Libz EP' and demonstrates why his reputation carries such weight with three special tracks that act as a master-class in how to create music that will consume dance floors.

First up is 'Brayed' which takes the listener on a loopy and enriching journey, whilst 'Howk' is a classic foot-to-the-floor number. Concluding the EP is 'Taking Libz', the title track that sees Topping firmly hold onto his crown with this unstoppable cut.

i-D Magazine described Patrick’s style "that is characterized by punchy, chugging baselines that have become weapons in the sets of many a DJ." Started his career DJing at the club night Motion in Newcastle, he was quickly snapped up by Jamie Jones, for Hot Creations. Releases on the label and a residency at Paradise DC10 in Ibiza soon followed and 2014 saw him release ‘Get Beasty’, ‘Forget’ and ‘Voicemail’ featuring Green Velvet and concluded with a hattrick of awards including winning the DJ Mag Best Newcomer, Track Of The Season and Best Tune awards in their Best of British Awards.

The Dirtybird Players have had a huge crush on the New York based duo Walker & Royce for a while now, as it's not uncommon to find at least one or two W&R bombs in their sets on tour. They’re unique and forward thinking approach to music has seen support come from as diverse as Pete Tong to Maceo Plex to Sasha to Adam Beyer. Campers are still buzzing about their set at last year's Dirtybird Campout, and Claude invited them as a guest for his Birdhouse stage at Mysteryland this Summer.

Needless to say, we're fans.

We knew we needed a release from them for Dirtybird, and we have the perfect EP to welcome them to the family, “Boy'.  Both of the tracks stand out on their own, yet also compliment each other with the straight forward title track that is the Yin to the tongue-in-cheek Yang of “I.T.B.”.

Italian acclaimed DJ/producer Frankyeffe is back on Reload Black, once again delivering ounces of groove through his brand new single, tilted 'Illusion'.

The track starts off with a stomping bassline laced with looped-out vocal snippets, while frantic claps and busy arrangement set the tone, leaving metallic percussion to provide the momentum and evolving synths to reinforce the energetic vibe. Things get kicked up a notch when tasty chords are employed, leaving just enough space for the hypnotic atmospherics to ensure a jet-back ride into the night.

Berlin based Voight Recordings are onto their seventh EP since launching in 2016, having featured the likes of Oliver Deutschmann, Flug, GoldFFinch and Hans Bouffmyhre on previous releases.

Original material this time comes from ALPI, an Italian duo who are making the right moves already putting out their accomplished sounds on Arnaud Le Texier’s Children of Tomorrow and legendary Dutch label Planet Rhythm. Also included is a quality remix from Milanese artist Wrong Assessment who is known for his M_REC LTD and Clergy contributions.

The DT:Premiere we selected is the last and digital only track “Mistaken Identity” that uses a strong broken beat funk to full effect. The haunting lead sound adds sensitivity, as it trails a hypnotic feeling alongside the droning textures to balance the powerful undertones. Energetic and engaging, this is a big one for us!

The Nusery's second release of 2018 is a solo release by the hands of JC Laurent, a talented Frenchman who's been putting out top notch techno for the better part of a decade. 

Over that course of time, JC has developed a mature sound which is demonstrated fiercely on the EP's first track Dissonances. While thunderous kickdrums are making way for phasing synthesis, even the littlest of drum patterns are enough to keep tension sky high without exception. 

This formula is maintained throughout the tracks that follow. Whether it's the slightly dreamier Groom Lake, the tight sequences of the title track Soaring Over or the eerie, outer space vibe in Surveillance Plane: neither of them comprises anything more than that which is strictly necessary. And that is what makes Soaring Over EP the stellar piece of work that it is, four powerful cuts that are just waiting to make heads turn.
